I was never able to afford Manhattan either.

Find the beauty in Brooklyn.

You would be living in a closet in the basement in a room with no windows in Manhattan.
(With a roommate who smelled bad).

Just remember that Manhattan is right there for you whenever you want.

(Too far away to hang out now :biggrin1: and we probably don't have much in common)

Your an idiot to move to anywhere in New York. Your paying double for the same stuff you can get much cheaper in Texas. If you want to put some money in your pocket during this economic fraud, move to Texas. Good weather all year, cheaper and cleaner than newyork, and they dont have a greedy mayor like Bloomberg.

hey pycho567, don't be a hater. i live in houston and yes it's cheaper. but nyc is great for some people. to each his own. i just visit occasionally. i know some people who would never move to nyc without being in manhattan, but as sayz mentioned, it costs some bucks. yet as pitbull said, it's right there ...

All of which is outweighed by it being Texas. Urgh.

Brooklyn is far far far better than living in Manhattan - original poster, you made the perfect choice.
