Good Lord! Not that idiotic one again! I voted for George W.Bush for a number of reasons and one of them was that his competitor offered nothing that moved me and in addition to that, they offered nothing in the way of helping gay rights move forward. In the final picture, when I entered my vote it was based on who I thought might lead this Nation in the best direction and with the most belief in the Nation as a whole. Find me the tapes or transcripts of John Kerry supporting gay rights...I mean really supporting them not just going along with some partyline rhetoric. I found it welcoming and warming and wonderful when George W. Bush indicated that he just doesn't get gay marriage. At least he was being honest about it, if he is as dimwitted as many people claim, then it should be fairly simple to get him to support not only gay marriage; but, across the board gay rights since the average simpleton will do whatever they are told to do.

I am sick and tired of people deciding that because a person is of a certain sexual orientation that they must adhere to liberal ticket voting.
LMFAO, so let me get this right, you'd rather support someone who sees you as nothing more than a wedge issue, and who supports constitutional amendments prohibiting you from excericising rights that every other citizen has over someone who . . . well wants you to be able to live your life as you see fit?

Kerry has stated that he is for gay rights, and for civil unions (yes, he's against gay marriage but would NOT vote for a constitutional amendment banning it). That's a far cry from what your beloved Bush supports.

Here's a little hint for you, if you support Bush, you support his party. If you support his party, you support those who prefer to see your sexual preference illegal. That's fact. Whether you like it or not.

The best direcction for this country? If you consider financial ruin, worldwide contempt, complete lack of preparedness for national emergencies, complete disregard for the rule of law, and complete contempt for our treaties and international obligations to be "best," then sure.

Once again, EDUCATE YOURSELF.

Never mind Bush; are you saying that this is not broadly representative of the result of US foreign and domestic policy since the 1950's?

Bush is not the first President to tilt a Supreme Court roster in one direction...and most likely will not be the last.
Correct. But tilting it in favor of justices who refuse to follow Constitutional mandates deserves comment. Right?
I have read the aforementioned material and do indeed understand your concerns but what are YOU doing about it that is actually constructive?
You really do not read the posts, do you? What do I do that is actually constructive? I post here to try to raise awareness. I encourage political activity in addition to discussion - online and in real life. I write - OFTEN - to my senator and representative, state and federal. I research the issues, I read the legislation, both pending and passed, so that I understand what our government is actually doing, as opposed to what they say they are doing. I call their bluffs, praise their accomplishments, and condemn their corruptions. What do you do that you consider constructive, besides writing caustic little snippets online and calling people "asswipe liberals?"

Yup, telling you to educate yourself is an "antic." I know how much Bush supporters hate to be educated.

You left off Reagan, who, in reality, set the framework for the majority of the problems we're confronted with today, yet is hailed as some kind of hero by the right (despite the fact that when confronted with terrorism at a certain Marine barracks, he simply took all US troops out of Lebanon instead of responding, we won't even get into that whole Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam and Iran-Contra thing, along with that little financial assistance to a certain Saudi gentleman who was residing in Afghanistan as part of the mujahadin).

As to what I do personally, not only do I write to congressman regularly, I donate to those who support worthy causes, volunteer on a local basis, regularly provide information to any who are interested, advocate for rights for all human beings (even Iraqis, gays and, for that matter, gay Iraqis).

While the maniac sits there supporting Bush, people like me support those who fight to insure that the maniac has the right to love whom he choses and enjoy the same protections as all other Americans instead of being relegated to second class citizenship because of his sexual orientation.

This is why Dr Rock has given you a troll award.

June 5, 2006.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/06/....ap/index.html

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush and Senate conservatives renewed their battle Monday to ban same-sex marriage through a constitutional amendment that has a slim chance of passage.

After G.W.Bush proclaimed that "homosexuality is wrong" he made the following comments regarding the proposed amendment:

"I call on the Congress to pass this amendment, send it to the states for ratification, so we can take this issue out of the hands of overreaching judges and put it back where it belongs: in the hands of the American people," Bush said at the White House on Monday.
"When judges insist on imposing their arbitrary will on the people, the only alternative left to the people is an amendment to the Constitution: the only law a court cannot overturn," he said.
You have enough information on this board to answer your "wondering why" question MM.

...why waste all your eneries on someone you dislike so much? So, once again, I am puzzled as to what makes people go on and on about someone they claim to have such hatred for. It's a puzzlement to say the least.

It's because this guy has power and is doing damage. The office is not a personality contest, and it is not a matter of whether Bush is nice, cute, popular etc. If it were, then you would be right, bitching would have no point. But if in fact he is doing some serious damage, and is oblivious to genuine feedback, well then people might start to get alarmed at the impact he is having on the country and on the world.

It's like seeing some idiot parent abusing their kids or shirking their responsibilities. If I love being a good parent, I am going to be upset with that behavior. If they go further and abuse my kids, you are never going to get me to shut up.

George Washington said he was accountable to every citizen of the US. George Bush said what he loves about being president is that he is accountable to no one. He doesn't have to explain himself to anybody.

Can you see why someone would get upset at that, and stay upset? The man acts like a king. How can someone love the US and not be upset with that behavior? Is it because Bush is so religious? liberal toward the rich, and conservative toward the poor, just like Jesus was?

Sadly, He really seems to be out of touch of whats going on, and how badly we are being beaten up by this administration.

As soon as he was appointed, I pulled all of my funds out of the market as I couldn't afford to loose the little bit I had saved.
(No, its generally not the right thing to do, but I couldnt afford not to try to help myself)

I question his place in this world, and his experiences (upbringing, work history, place in life now)
He may be a very successful individual, but it's how he got there that I'm interested in.

My gut feeling is that he has had it TOO easy, and hasn't learned what real work is, nor what the average american has to do nowadays to find a decent job that pays well enough to purchase a small starter home to get themselves on their feet, and become a productive tax paying citizen so we ALL can benefit, and support eachother.
Try being a college student that has to PAY for his college out of pocket, rather than funded by parents (Because they can't afford it either), and being declined for federal assistance for unknown reasons.

I agree, Bush is a Target. I refer to him as a Puppet. He's just the tip of the corrupt iceberg thats weezeled their way into administration.

The biggest issue I have with Politics is that you can write all the letters and protest all you want, but they aren't going to do much, unless its Massive enough where they HAVE to do something.
Massive meaning, Riot. Civil Unrest.

I strongly believe it's coming to that soon, as most people just cannot afford to live anymore.

Yes, he's got one year before he "Moves out of the White House"
I say Evict him early. You will still loose money, but at least you can try to stop the bleeding early.
We should Charge him for Rental Damages!

execution 3/10 (poorly thought-out; repetitive; hopelessly transparent)

This is a tremendous post. For those of us who look beyond the surface, this describes exactly why we are upset, but it's just too damned many words for the light-duty americans to grasp. If we could cut it down somehow to seven seconds or less, we'd have a chance to reach the masses, but there's no easy way to present more complex ideas.
