Jake1989x is a perfect example of how media has shaped his opinions. It's not really his fault his only references are newspapers or things he's seen on the news. He hasn't bothered to speak to Muslims or people in their communities to see what they really think.
That same mindset has contributed to homophobia, racism and xenophobia amongst other things.
I don't know Mr.Trudeau but I believe the statement he was making was that of acceptance and inclusion in Canada where Muslims and gays live side by side.
This is the last I'm going to comment on this.
First you've assumed my race, then assumed how and what has shaped my views. I give a link with statistics, talked of laws in countries. You gave your opinions, which for the most part have been nothing more than assumptions, bare this in mind when you take the moral high ground.
You failed to rebut anything actually said.
How do you know which communities I have and haven't spoken to?
How do you know what my experiences are with people from those communities?
As for communities coming together. The biggest opposition to marriage equality in the UK, came from Christianity and Islam. The two most prominent religions. When two groups interests counter act one another acceptance can only go so far. I wanted equality in the eyes of the law. They didn't want me to have this. We won, but rights can be taken away, just as quickly as they are given.
That's where the intersectional love everybody nonsense falls on its arse. Pick a side, I'd suggest the one that liberates you, not puts you in the ground.
