1) He's not a good businessperson, so him having money issues is to be expected. 2) The reason straight guys promote gay stuff on social media is because of how the platforms work. Gay men are their audience, so promoting gay content is a way of building their brand. As a consumer, I've found a lot of content creators I never knew existed because of who I followed. Promoting affiliate links is also another way to make money.
