Do you ever find yourself in a situation, where someone who you have a lot of respect for (at least in my case) is very hung but doesn't talk about it or brag about it? But instead only makes the occasional joke and has a sort of aloofness about the whole thing?

I mean you have had it cinformed to you that this person is extremely endowed, they just don't make a big deal out of it?

I have found myself quite liking that but I wanted to see what everyones thoughts where.

In have yet to really have a conversation with anyone about dick size - mine or theirs - and I'm not talking about just "polite society." Decades ago when I was going to the baths and the clubs I was popular, but unless someone had seen me undressed they knew nothing about my cock - or I theirs. How would you even bring it up? Water cooler conversation in the office? Maybe let it hang out when you're in the market among the cucumbers and bananas? I've had people talk about my size during and after sex, but it's more of a conversation about the sex, not the size. I do like that this forum is available so people can raise their issues, but I cannot imagine how a conversation would go anywhere else?

How would you envision discussing it yourself?

I find the majority of people who I have met don't talk about it. The only way I would know is if I had first-hand knowledge, or someone they were dating decided to share it with me. The rare people who did openly talk about it had some serious security issues, were lying, or both.

(Mentioned in another thread) one of the men I shared a house with at university was very well hung, but never mentioned penis sizes at all.

Yet, to hear it from half the guys in this site, it's as if there's barely time to discuss anything BUT penis size. In one of wally's later threads one guy (Lloyd...who just deleted his account...again) claims there's a social hierarchy among ALL groups of men, based upon penis size. He assumes everyone knows everyone else's dick stats. I'm a nudist and don't know the erect size of 98% of the other guys at our campground. Because nobody talks about it. No reason to.

There do seem to be a few (okay several!) guys on this site laser-focused on penis size. Big and small and everything in-between. Down to fractions of inches or millimeters. Lying about their size. And most of those guys identify as predominately straight.

And that's what's confused me. Because I've lived with that tired cliche that gay men were so fixated about the size of another man's penis. And knew that we weren't. Well, except for a couple of size queens I've known.

What I'd like to know: Why are these guys who identify as straight so fixated on another man's penis size? Are they lying about their sexuality? What's the motivation for the fixation?

I ask because I know a lot of straight men. We've talked about a lot of stuff. Specific penis size has not been one of the topics. Ever.

Or is this site just an anomaly?

I think if we went to a florist site, there would be a lot of discussion on flowers.

I believe it is the nature of where we are. The site name leans towards measurement of one's penis. That's not a bad thing, communicating in a safe space, but it can also bring in some truly deviant individuals, or others with a more defined fixation.

Thanks for replying; I agree with your analogy. Made me chuckle!

I get that it's the nature of the site. But I still remain curious, especially when it comes to the fixation on exact penis size exhibited by straight men (or those who identify that way)?

Especially when these guys claim to not be interested in and/or won't be seeing or playing with an erect penis. Or so many of them say.

I'm interested in hearing from some of "these guys".

I'm not competitive, and notice competitiveness in others. I would guess this is just another place for men to compete. They assume size positively influences female attraction, so they want to be the biggest.

It would explain the compulsion to fake on an anonymous website.

Good question. I agree, it is curious. Over 14,000 posts + 600,000 views for ‘Str8 guys mega SKYPE' and 1800+ posts in 'Str8 looking to skype with other straight guys'. Not to mention the endless forensic cock measuring that goes on in the straight porn section. Yes, competitiveness, but why this tireless focus on the cock when there's no sexual interest in it?

Thanks for this input. I get the competition aspect. At least I think I do. I say that because, like you, I'm not normally a competitive person. Maybe playing cards or a board game. But not with or against a person otherwise. So it's not a normal thought for me to think, oh, am I bigger than PosterA or that guy I saw at the bank.

Is it that kind of competition? Is it the need to feel superior? Well, at least I'm bigger than him? Oh, I'm 7.4454 inches and he's 7.4436 inches? And then you have the many many girth threads...

At the end of the day, what does it matter? Why does it matter? I'm seriously trying to understand the straight male psyche about the need to compare. Because I don't have that experience. I do know a lot of straight guys from my time in the bodybuilding and fitness world. And I can't recall this topic ever being discussed. Maybe they were afraid the gay guy would be offended? Or was packin', lol?!?

Yeah, it's odd to me, as I don't "get" the Type-A "alpha" male types at all. Or the guys who are really insecure and try to compensate by flaunting ANY supposed advantage they may perceive.

I think this site, because so many assume it's "a big dick site", creates a sort of feeding frenzy of size. Porn compounds this with incessant lying and propaganda. We've both been in the threads with guys who are paralyzed by all of this, and can't be convinced that by and large, women don't really put emphasis on penis size. So they feel It's important to be bigger than other guys in order to get a woman to be interested in them. So they "compete" here. But, as you wrote, at the end of the day, what does it matter? Getting compliments on your dick from other guys shouldn't matter to a straight guy...unless that straight guy is interpreting compliments as jealousy....the "I win" of the "competition."

I would assume there is interest, at least for some. Between curiosity, homophobia and bi erasure (even in an anonymous site), and outright misrepresentation, I think there are plenty of guys who are somewhere down the spectrum from 100% straight who decide to identify here as "100/0" or "99/1". There are also plenty who use "str8" to mean "anything but", or at least that's how it appears. There's also good reason to use the straight identity, as there's apparent demand for that from other guys. Seems to be a thing.

This site is a relatively safe place for guys to screw around. It doesn't necessarily represent the real world, which is the attraction, I suppose.

All men gay ,straight or bi are obssessed with cock size to varying degrees, its the essence of maleness. The bigger cocked less so the smaller cocked more so.
