Does anyone watch this British comedy? My family and I absolutely love itThe actors are so funny and smart.I've noticed British shows definitely seem smarter than American shows. It is so funny when people continuously mispronounce Hyacinths name instead of Bouquet its Bucket.I think of Patricia Routtledge as the british Lucille Ball.:biggrin1: :18:

The show is delightful. And I have made that same comparison to Lucille Ball.

I wish we had more British shows here in the states. I love the British humor.

I think you've misunderstood. The name is pronounced "Bucket"; Richard was Richard Bucket before he married Hyacinth. The "Boo-kay" pronunciation is an affectation on her part that she's foisted upon everyone including Richard. Other people aren't "mispronouncing" her name, they're just forgetting to indulge her posturing.

Can I have a 'none of the above' option? Now, if you want to see some *really* good British comedy (although Are You Being Served is damn fine), go watch the DVDs of 'Coupling' :)

That sitcom makes me mildly nauseous. Like Seinfeld does.
