Well he is free to do whatever he'd like, however my two cents are I ( in my limited experiences) have never known someone who has come out to regret that decision. Not one. Religion is a strong thing to see through, but if this is what this particular individual believes then who are we to say its wrong, we arent him, we dont have his thoughts, his experiences.

No. My point was to say, that all the gay men and women I know have never regretted coming out, and if from the sample size that I have talked with they have all not regretted it, I am making the assuming statement that anyone who comes out does not regret it. Granted I am talking in the long run.
I think you are just misreading my comment. We are of simular thought, But I would also urge you to reconsider your point as well, as sexuality is fluid, as you state, and it is in the eye of the beholder, for lack of a better term. The rest of us do not get to dictate his sexuality. If he says he is straight then we gotta believe it until its proven otherwise. And before you go crucifying me (see what I did there) I am full aware he WAS gay.

Yeah, I did misread your original comment, thanks for clarifying.
I'm not dictating anyone's sexuality, merely pointing out that "praying the gay away" is bullshit. Not only does it suggest that being gay needs fixing, but it helps reinforce the ultra religious view that gay conversion therapy (torture) works.
I say let him be who he wants to be. He will figure it out on his own. I've dated men and women and have felt strong feelings for both. The gay community is one of the most judgemental and least accepting group of people. Geez. Sexuality is a spectrum. Even if he's doing it for the wrong reasons, in your opinion, he's entitled to do that without judgemental. Nobody knows what he's been through. He could have had a very traumatic experience with a guy and it turned him off from men.
Of course he is free in his choices. The thing is that most people who pray to be become straight will cause troubles for their own future.
