Can it be? Did hell freeze over? A NEWS anchor at FOX news sees the light that comparing the different plans going through Congress for health care reform with the Nationalized Health care in Canada is a false comparison:

Shep Smith: Was That Canadian Health Care Story We Just Ran Fair?

"The Fox Report" on Fox News, hosted by anchor Shepard Smith, ran a piece by reporter Dan Springer on how Canada's single-payer health care system is forcing Canadians to come to the United States for care because the waiting period for treatment is too long. The report was intended to contrast negatively with proposals in the U.S. to include a public option in health care reform, however Smith questioned whether the report they just ran was actually fair.......

Although it has just occurred to me that anyone with Trinity on their ignore lists is probably amused by what appears to be a bunch of liberal idiots talking to themselves. :biggrin1:

Trust me, there are still plenty of interesting and provocative people to engage without bothering with that disingenuous fraud.

Shep Smith is one of the good guys. I sincerely doubt that his contract will be renewed.

He was also the one who "broke" the fact that Gov Palin didn't know that Africa was a continent or which governments comprised NAFTA.

Yeah, CNN should have taken him in trade for Glenn Beck.

We're still waiting for the Republican Alternative Bill for health care Reform!:

IN SEARCH OF THE GOP ALTERNATIVE.... Congressional Democrats have made an effort of late to point out the fact that congressional Republicans, despite their "guarantees," have not come up with their own health care plan. Indeed, it's been 104 days since the leadership promised to deliver one.
The Washington Monthly

I'm going to wager we'll be waiting for a loooooooooong time.

I doubt he'll have any difficulty finding a job when the time comes. There was a dust-up months back when someone tried to "out" him as a way of discrediting what he says: everyone yawned.

Who's next? Anderson Cooper?

Trinity , no matter how you try to absolve the insurance companies, the facts are not going to let you. health care is the fastest increase in the cost of living index. The private health care industry seeks out profits for its shareholders, period. health insurance company bureaucrats get in the way of patients working with their doctors. The health care industry hired fifty thousand whores to trash the public option across the country this summer. And yet they have STILL FAILED to stop it.
The heallth industry whores, like the senators from Maine and Baucus of Montana. still dont make a majority of the senate. Paul kirk of massachusetts is on our side, as is senator Byrd of WV. not even a fall in his home will stop him from voting for the public option. Your endless tirade against the public option is based on lies and fantasy. return to your pharma drug of choice, no doubt provided as an on the job perk for you, and we will continue to work for real health care reform while you and Rush zone out on your oxycontin.

Wow, Fox news reporting the news in a fair manner? Encouraging people to think by asking sensible questions? Against the wishes of the Republican Party?

I think that this is the most frustating, and kinda scary, thing about those who believe the political tripe being currently tossed around. The thing they have in common is an unwillingness to ask questions and think for themselves.

Fox news and every other news organization also reported that both Public Option Amendments to the Baucus bill were voted down in Senate Committee.
And if that makes you believe that the Public Option is dead, you are naive.

Industrialsize: You are right. There are now 5 healthcare bills that have made it out of various committees (3 in the House, 2 in the Senate), and the Baucus Bill is the only one NOT to include a public option.

At the end of the day, all these bills have to be reconciled in the House (separately) and Senate (separately), then voted on, then reconciled again so that the remaining Senate bill and House bill are fused together (then a final vote). There is plenty of time to persuade those blue dog dems to vote in the interest of the general public and include a public "choice", an alternative to the private corporations.

Much more to come.

So much time in fact...Obama can jet off to Copenhagen on an Olympic mission. Wait - he knows he wants the Olympics but has no idea about the mission in Afghanistan.

Obama was going to write his own healthcare bill...wonder what happened to that...oh yeah that was just a trial balloon because Obama has no idea what he's doing:

Let the lawmakers hash it out...we'll just call it public "choice" now . If we get anything we'll claim victory...even if it increases the deficit, even if it raises taxes on those already hurting, even if it cuts benefits for seniors, even if we can't afford it, even if it doesn't reduce costs, even if it leads to rationing of care, long lines and less access.

That's exactly why they need to kill all of the bills and start over.

Sweetheart deal in Baucus bill for Harry Reid

Too bad his state isn't even impressed with it. Reid maneuvers for sweeter deal; some not impressed

WASHINGTON — The Senate majority leader, Harry Reid of Nevada, has secured a special deal protecting his state against the costs of expanding Medicaid under one of the major health care bills moving through Congress.

Senator Harry Reid has secured changes that protect his state from Medicaid increases.
Mr. Reid, a Democrat, complained about the impact on Nevada when the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, Max Baucus, Democrat of Montana, unveiled his bill on Sept. 16.
Now Mr. Baucus has modified the bill to spare Nevada and three other states, and Mr. Reid, who faces a potentially difficult race for re-election next year, is taking credit for getting a “major increase” in federal money for his state. New York Times

Might I suggest StormFront? I stayed around just long enough to see that they have a little bit more than just rants about how much white people need to rule the world.
Then I had to go shower because I felt so dirty. Trinity should feel right at home.

No comments on Sen. Harry Reid's sweetheart deal in the Baucus bill? Oh there's more:

What are Obama and the Democrats doing? A Gag Order to squash valid and fair opposition to ObamaCare and then investigating Humana for informing their clients is beyond the pale.

The company has a constitutional right to provide information to their clients.

Medicare ‘Gag Order’ A Sign That Obama, Democrats Are Desperate on Health Care

That order was instigated by Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) after he discovered that insurance giant Humana, which is headquartered in McConnell’s home state of Kentucky, had sent its Medicare Advantage customers a mailing that warned them of the possible benefit reductions that might occur if the program’s funding were cut.

Baucus called the Humana mailing “false,” while the CMS said it was “misleading” and “confusing.” However, the director of the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), Douglas Elmendorf, testified before Baucus’ Senate Finance Committee that, in fact, the administration’s planned cuts to Medicare Advantage would result in seniors losing “more than half” of the added benefits they receive from the privately run program.
CNSnews.com

According to the CBO, if anyone has been disseminating false and misleading information it has been Obama and the Democrats!

Gag Orders, ensuing Investigations on those who tell the truth...Obama
and the Democrats have lost all sight of any principles they had. The American people can no longer recognize the Democratic Party.

Even ABC news is in awe:

ABC Notices Obama Administration's Effort to Suppress Criticism of ObamaCare

The Humana mailing warned that because of Medicare cuts in the health care reform bills, quote, "millions of seniors and disabled individuals could lose many important benefits and services." But Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus says it is misleading to say his bill cuts Medicare benefits and ordered the HHS to investigate, prompting the gag order. Some legal experts say the order is unconstitutional. Senator McConnell agrees.
