That looks like something that slithered out of my closet when I was living in St. Thomas, I almost had a heart attack. I got used to it though. But the geckos are harmless and as others have said they keep things that are more annoying at bay.

It turned out to be an Australian Bearded Dragon. I have no idea how it ended up on my property.
