the 1 reason i watch riverdale. not only is he the sexiest guy on the show he's also the best actor tbh.
Honestly I'll agree to that
Jugrat's "tough boy"acting makes me want to punch him through the screen

My biggest issue with Jugs is how he's written. To me he's clearly a not so tough guy trying to act tough, which could be interesting, but it's not. Archie on the other hand has so many different layers that KJ is so good at tapping into. He deserves a lot more credit than he gets. He may be playing a dumb jock character and he may be a bro jock in real life but he's also an incredibly talented actor <3

My thoughts exactly on jug, sprouse doesn't deliver the lines well and they just come off as cringey add that to the already cringey writing

I'm always talking about how messy that show is because of that. Jug seems to get much more airtime than Archie because the 12 year old fangirls think Cole is prettier but his character is a mess. Starts off as an hipster who seemed too good for his small town and gangster dealings to start running the whole gang, going from "I don't fit in and I don't wanna fit in" to just "They gave me a jacket so now I'm a gangster" and they call that character development lol

Honestly season 2 was a mess. I know the show was always kitsch and camp and extra, and that was good, but they just went overboard with it to the point of it being plain stupid and at times incredibly cringe inducing.

YES. That's my main thing with the show is that it got too fanservicey in that regard. And all the other characters get judged way harder for things by the fandom than Jug and Betty even though both of them have done really terrible things too. I'm really glad yall seem to agree though cause I thought I was alone.

In season 2 near the middle, the show lost its way! And only got good at the musical episode and after! I mean one of the biggest wtf moment for me was when Archie cut the chains off Jughead and then they did that stare off, only for NOTHING to come of that! Like no fight, no jughead getting revenge, nothing!

But I do agree about what you’re all saying about jughead! Like seeing someone like him having to play the ‘leader’ of the serpents is weird and not really believable! Especially when you have someone like Sweet Pea there who, seems more like the alpha one out of them two and who has gone up against the bulldogs many times! Remember when Sweet Pea and the other serpents had that fight with Archie and the bulldogs? Ever since then I’ve always thought that sweet pea was southsides version of Archie! The dominant one who is willing to take charge and represent the southside and to fight for the serpents! Like how Archie is the dominant who is willing to take charge and represent the north side and to fight for the town!

And I still can’t get over the cringe acting from jug when he confronted chic in the kitchen after finding out chic wasn’t Betty’s brother! And when jug and the rest of the serpents stormed into the coopers house to confront the woman who was after money
