Discovery is an abomination and (along with Abrams Trek) should not be counted as part of canon. However while reading up on it just so I could see how bad it was without having to actually endure watching it, I do remember a mention of some scene of a Klingon taking a piss that consisted of twin streams (evidence of it being an uncouth version of Trek). Therefore that might obviously imply two penises, which is in keeping with the Klingon brak'lul or duplication of organs; one of the few things the it seems the show decided not to change just for the sake of change.

I cannot imagine an uncircumcised Klingon. Any true warrior race would demand a right of passage from childhood to adult warrior. A young Klingon male would proudly display his newly enlarging "thing" within weeks of starting puberty (klingon boys never enter puberty a day before they turn 18 cycles, so we are cool, moderators) , and would have to show the women, and the men in his family that he would voluntarily undergo the cut with one of those big knives they use, with no show of fear or pain. Of course, like trachnan/humans, the gay ones would insist on keeping their foreskins. Probably be banned to some gulag on Rurapente. Anyone want to finance a gay Trek film? Flip side of coin: Klingons appear to like strong smells. So a Klingon retracting his foreskin to let the pugent smegma odours out might be considered kinky to them. But I suspect the rite of passage would be more important.

I was not aware of Klingon olfactory issues. As one who does not particularly enjoy sexual activity with a woman (perhaps I'm part Klingon?), I see your point. It also suggests some interesting observations regarding Klingon rectal hygiene, especially if they sport smeg free phalli. Humans definitely have arm pit issues when it comes to odors, both the males and the females, perhaps Klingons don't. (Smelly, rank knees, perhaps?). But overall bathing habits on Chronos might not be particularly pleasant for humans. Useful info...

I was watching a StarTrek episode the other day (the original with Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Sulu, Chekov and Scott), and began wondering. In the world of intergalactic interaction(ii), there are males of several planetorial and galaxial backgrounds. Were they like Earthlings and of long histories which included both pros and cons towards circumcision? Did they have various religious sects which either praised and requested circumcision or forbade it under risk of excommunication from the religion?

How about the Klingon or the Ferengi or the Cardassian? It can be presumed that given their similarity, the Romulans are like the Vulcans and don't possess skin either.

From further reasearch, I found whispers that Klingons are uncircumcised for the most part- which hinted that it may be done as part of retribution upon slaying an enemy (maybe even just capturing an enemy).

So, if the Montgomery Scott were captured by Klingons, he might indeed have his foreskin sliced off as part of negotiations between Starfleet and the Klingons. I wonder how they'd handle it if they captured Spock; though, since he is half human (his mother), perhaps he has an always external penis and was born with a foreskin, if so, was he circumcised?


I am still not sure about Cardassians and Ferengis. Here too, a whisper was found that had a Cardassian quite disgusted when someone mentioned being circumcised.


I am also curious as to the foreskin quotient of each group and of the earlier Klingons (Kirk generation) compared to those of later Klingons, who were vastly different in appearance.

I have read that American astronauts are required to be circumcised. I imagine the reason being hygene of the penis. Not able to wash the smegma from the penis on a regular basis. I guess astronauts from other countries with a space program do the same. But I read this somewhere.
