I could not believe how many times the word FUCK was used in this film, and this is from someone who normally does not mind swearing but my god, this was used every second it seemed. It was like the writer didn' have the brain cells to step together a coherent script, so decided to make every second word FUCK so he could fill up the page.
The embarrassing part was I took my mum to do see it with me because we both liked the trailer, and was shocked and mortified at how bad and crass the swearing was, so much so we walked out.
Am I the only one that hated this amount of swearing in the movie ?

Methinks you should've done a bit more research before taking your mum to this film.

Title: Knocked Up (2007) Rating: R Rating Reason: Rated R for sexual content, drug use and language.

I really enjoyed the flick, I am bummed they didn't show Katherine Heigl's naked boobs tho. :(

You got to see the babie's head crowning though.:puke:

As for the cursing, I didn't mind it. There was a lot of cursing in "The 40 Year Old Virgin" as well (both are Judd Apatow films). I enjoyed the movie overall.

109th all time. I could have sworn my all time favorite movie was higher up the list, but I'm glad to see it's still on the top 20. Shut the fuck up Donny.

The Aristocrats is way down there at #123. That's kinda surprising considering how foul it is, but when Bob Saget said, "He put his cock into the desk drawer and then started BANGING the drawer shut onto it, making it flat, you know, like a bookmark,"* I guess it doesn't count towards the "Fuck" count.

* - That's not the exact line, I'm sure, but it's what I remember offhand

Seen any movies and/or HBO tv shows since 1980?

Questioning foul language in mass media is one thing...

Disbelief in the fact that it even exists is another...

I have no problem with swearing at all, and I am in no way a prude ( the fact I joined a large penis support group website is case in point lol ) but I thought the movie did go too much overboard in the swearing department. I guess it is just me then.

I haven't seen the movie. It's not being released in Korea as far as I know. I've heard it's good though, and since none of these movies really bothered me all that much.. I probably wouldn't have been bothered by Knocked Up.

YouTube - Casino The Fucking Short Version (398)
YouTube - Pulp Fiction Fucking Short Version (265)
YouTube - The Big Lebowski - The Fucking Short Version *featured* (210 or 260)
YouTube - Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back: The F*cking Short Version (288 or 248)

I couldn't find a "fucking short version" of the British film "Nil by Mouth", which uses the word even more times than Casino, amazingly enough.

The number one "fuck" movie, though, is naturally the documentary named "Fuck"

Maybe it was "shocking" because (at least apart from the R rating) it looks like it's yet another romantic comedy, and they rarely cuss in that kind of movie.

My own mother recommended Pulp Fiction when my dad and I wanted to go out to a movie one night, so my threshold's a little different.

I went and seen the movie tonight... and it's rated 14A, which means if your not 14 you need to be with an adult....
I think you over reacted.. the swearing isn't bad at all... the durg use is exceptional, but the swearing is minimal...

I'm no prude but I often feel there's too much swearing in films, it often feels like they're using the swearing as a way to curry favour with the younger adults. Sort of, if we use a lot of swear words they'll feel we're young trendy on their wavelength film makers.
