Alright, turns out the Dublin job was a probable scam. They wanted me to send 350 Euros to some guy's account in Dublin in order to process my worker's permit and VISA. I'm still waiting to hear from Fabriano, Italy.

Anyway.

Per rawbone's wife's suggestion, I looked for and received an offer for a job in Daegu/Taegu/Dae gu. I also have an offer in Gwangmyung/Gwang Myeong si, which is a suburb of Seoul. At this point I'm strongly leaning toward the latter. The pay/benefits/work will be very similar, so it's primarily a question of location preference. Any final thoughts on either of these two places?

Sounds a little too familiar to me. While primarily at one job for the last number of years I have had a host of others to “fill in.” Anyhow, when you have narrowed it down and are sure you are going to do the “Korea thing” PM me and I will ask a friend of mine for advice. He tutors LOTS of Korean university students and worked (albeit for a short time) in Korea teaching English.

The only thing I can suggest is that you shop for extra clothes now. A friend of mine went to teach in Japan and couldn't find a single thing there to fit him. He's 6'4". Of course you could always rely on mail order.

I may take a short vacation while there and get some clothes made. Have heard good things about the tailors in Vietnam, Thailand, China and the Phillipines. Made-to-fit silk clothes on the cheap... sounds good to me.

But in the meantime I have more than enough clothes to take with me. I'll probably leave about 5/6 of what I have here.

You're right about the clothes in Vietnam. A tailor friend of mine was travelling there and had five dresses (those cool long silk gowns) hand made for me for less than $40 apiece. I'm sure she made a profit off me even at that, but I was happy as hell.
