that was very sweet and amazing how in very different cultures the same questions come up -especially who's the woman in the relationship (which for some is code for who takes) and that gay people (male or female) feel the world is against them always when SOMETIMES it is how the older guy said who WE perceive the world's reaction to us.

The thing that strikes is just how far so much of the world has come, for early 30s guys in Korea to be fairly open about who they are (they run a youtube channel as a couple), even though there is clearly still discrimination and which in some countries can be much worse.

If i go back to my 20s, 30+ years ago, outside of London and maybe Manchester, Brighton (uk) there was so little knowledge and understanding of what being gay was and so much fear and trepidation about coming out and of who 'we' were, what this feeling we had about ourselves was. No TV or films with gay characters, no books, internet etc where you could see role models and where anything outside the 'norm' was just considered an abhorrence.

So i am pleased that the world (or a big chunk of it) has moved so far forward in such a relatively short time and that these 2 30 something korean guys can discuss this with an 80 yo woman. More to do, but sometimes we do need to celebrate the fact of how far we've journeyed?
