He died 17 years ago. Why does anyone really care that he was, maybe, possibly, no one will ever know, bisexual ? The true measure of a person is how they live their life, not how you might want to label them. In my opinion, and your mileage may vary since you are free to form your own and disagree with me, he was a troubled soul, and a drug addict that put a shotgun to his head and left his wife and young daughter behind.

Yes, he died 17 years ago, but he remains a potent cultural force. Teenagers who were in diapers when he died are wearing "Nirvana" t-shirts. He championed gay causes at a point when it wasn't as trendy as it is today. PLUS.... this is a sexual forum. So, from my perspective, the question makes sense. And, yes, he was a very troubled soul. Everyone knows that. (One reason he was troubled was because in high school he was bullied and called "gay.")

They called him gay because he was friends with someone who was gay in high school. He also specifically stated that his friend made a move on him and he told him he just wanted to be friends. I love bowie, fred mercury and elton john and it wouldn't make a difference if Cobain was bi.

I'm just saying that if someone assume someone's bi because he was a tolerant and wise dude who was friends with a gay person.. you'd be making the same assumption all the ignorant douches who made fun of him in highschool made.

And can you link the article where he says he was bi? I just don't get why he wouldn't have crossed swords with his pal in highschool if he wasn't bi. Maybe the dude looked like Clint Howard.

Lots of kids are bullied in high school. I was my freshman year. It never occurred to me to kill myself. Life got better. Alot better. Kurt was weak. Moreover, he just wanted to join the 27 club, die young stay pretty and end up a legend. I like people who hang in there.

I'm not implying that his sexuality is a reason he killed himself. Not likely to be the case when he himself openly identified as likely being bisexual.

I think he committed suicide because he had a painful life. Troubled family history (which included about two members that had also committed suicide); lifelong stomach pain; addiction to drugs to help with the stomach pain and depression; overwhelming fame that he didn't know how to cope with and had apparently never wanted.
