I am sitting at my computer in the apartment I rent atop this old Victorian house, and Griffith Park is burning...what a beautiful, tragic sight.

They are evacuating the old homes in the hills of Los Feliz & Silverlake..please, say a prayer, or simply stop a take a moment to think of the people and animals (the fire is near the Zoo).

I was visiting relatives in the San Gabrial Valley a number of years ago when fires started in the hills where they lived. We were told to be ready to leave if necessary. It was a very odd feeling. Thankfully the winds changed.

The Griffith Park area is so pretty, I hope they're able to get the fires out quickly.

Hopefully it doesn't spread to homes, but last I heard it wasn't endangering any. That was about an hour ago, though. I wish CNN was still covering it live.

ACK! One of Frank Lloyd Wright's masterpiece homes is up in Griffith Park. The Ennis house. It's been in tons of movies, though it's been closed now since a landslide undermined it's structural intergrity about a year ago.
