It's been a fantasy of mine for a long time to be a dancer, or just try it out. When I lost my job a few months back, I had about five people say to me "Heather, just go shake your money maker. Just go dance. It's so easy." I've expressed to the majority of my friends that I'd like to just try it, and I've never had one person tell me that I shouldn't, other than the drugs that I'd be around.

"Baby, you'd have to be really careful not to get sucked into that lifestyle and shit, but if you decide to do this, I'll teach you how to fucking hussle."

I've several friends that dance (about ten..lol) and attest that they can easily make $2000 just working Friday-Sunday every week. Some say they like working nights, to take advantage of the influx of young men. Some insist that it's best to work mornings, so you can pick money off the professionals on their lunch breaks.

I had one friend say that a guy paid her $400 just to sit and talk with him for thirty minutes.

One told me that she knew several dancers that would only work six months out of the year. "You can really tell who they are too...older, really classy ladies, other than the fact that they're strippers. They work six months out of the year, make a cool 70 grand and then don't work for the rest of the year. I've met a couple of them. These ladies are married to stock brokers, lawyers, brain surgeons."

"I made $1100 last night....and it was a slow night."

And you get to wear the cutest outfits. :biggrin1:

Hey ladies, ever considered dancing?

Guys: What's your take on strippers? Do you go to these gentlemen clubs? Got any good stripclub stories?

Hey Heather why not as long as you are happy doing it then it is your call. Fools and their money are easy parted so it should be easy pickings. Good luck with it.

lol Thanks for the fun words of encouragement, but I didn't say I was actually gonna do it. According to Dell employment policy, I'm not allowed to be a stripper.

I misread it sorry but you would make a good one anyway.

For sure I have in my imagination...

I'm a dancer..well, I study dance (ballet, jazz, modern, and someothers) as a girl and teenager I loved to dance and still do. I think a lot of women fantasie about dancing in sexy outfit and with that sexy poll (is it the name for that vertical bar?)

I'm all to be expressive with body and move. I love be theatrical and play...its fun!!!

And now with my cable box I had opportunity to see nice tv programs and I watch at HBO (dont ask me which one.. there are many:eek: ) a documentary called "Pretty things" very interesting indeed! Heather try to watch it..http://www.hbo.com/docs/programs/prettythings/index.html

Very interesting.

Well, but I imagine me dancing for a classy audience and 'my guy'..not in a situation like bars and striptease all my clothes and etc. As a said before just theatrical and of course with cute and pretty outfits. And I used to go to carnaval parade of samba like many brasilians both sexes do with beautiful outfits dancing to the huge public...is a great 'high' feeling experience to have, at least once in a life time...:biggrin1:

Very good topic, Heather!

I think its a very complex topic. Women dancing in a men's club obviously fulfills as much of a social need as it does a sexual one. Otherwise men would just watch porn movies. There is nothing surprising about the guy who pays $400 to have a girl sit and talk to him for 30 minutes. Any service that focuses on loneliness is going to be a money maker.

However, I would be more concerned with the falseness of it than the immorality of it for a woman. What I mean is that to do it well, you have to become a dispassionate actress. And what you eventually do is push a product, not a genuine relationship. Especially in the one on one activity. You become the female equivalent of a TV Evangelist bilking old ladies out of their money. They serve a deep rooted need, too. But what part of their personal humanity do they have to sell out in order to do it so well? My concern is less about the dishonesty of it as it is for what it does to the practitioner.

Geeze, sorry about this downer of a post for such an interesting topic. This must be why I am not invited to many parties.

Oh yes, here is something. Regarding your links to the "dance-wear". Isn't it funny that these days the best costumes for an exotic dancer can be obtained in any shopping mall?

Hey, I wonder if there is a way to combine Dell Customer Service work with a 900 number sex line?

My take is that the money can be great, and there's nothing intrinsically wrong or immoral with stripping.

That said, I have known a couple of women who swore that this would be a short term thing, that they'd stay away from the booze and drugs, and within months, they were drinking and had drug habits. So I gather that the temptation is pretty hard to resist. That, or the work is unpleasant enough to drive one to drugs...

Yes, I've been to those clubs.

Yes.

No way I'd ever be an erotic dancer, I just wouldn't be comfortable. Other kinds of dancing are great but sadly I'm not that good at it. My best friend is a great dancer and compared to her I just throw my arms and legs around, but it's still fun:smile: .

Never been to one of these places, and am so vague I wouldn't even know where to find one. I did come across an online forum for dancers, though - no idea where I found that, or how I'd find it again. Most of the discussion threads seemed to be about shoes.

coooooooooooool. :X You should totally find that for me. Pretty please. :biggrin1:

Ug. When I go to strip clubs, I see some of the trashiest outfits. I've been to several stores around town that specialist prmarily in striptease clothing and I know that just about all of it is expensive. You'd think...less fabric...less money..lol but OH, no. That aint so.

AND that goes for the shoes too. If I were a dancer, you would catch me dead in those trashy heels they sell at some of the places around here. Wearing stilleto tall "Fuck me. Fuck me." boots is one thing....but shoes like these are just..trashy.

Strippers make a lot of money...and they need new outfits to keep things spiced up. There's only so many dance moves you can see, man. The outfits really make the girl sometimes. They're making a lot of cash and spending a lot of it. It's no surprise that the stores are in every mall across the country....

lol and no............No dell/sex line. lol I've actually thought this through though..and thought that if I were to do this that I could just wear a Venetian mask the entire time.

Ive been to strip clubs in six different countries and at least a dozen different states. i know they make good money, ive blown thousands over the years. i just always tell myself that im donating to college girls education and tuition. What i know is, the drugs, prostitution, and drinking get to most girls that do it. i would date a stripper, i have a couple times, but i wouldnt marry one. strip clubs play on mens egos. most any guy will leave a strip club thinking he could have gotten laid for free, or that one girl really liked him. i KNOW thats the game girls play, its how they get your money, but i still get lost in it. its the fantasy, that these hot naked girls want a guy like me. the good ones really sell it. its more about working the crowd, and flirting, than it is about looking good naked or dancing well.

lol....WELL.....From the beginning of this year:

A mental health worker at a children's psychiatric facility, with ages four to twelve.
Daycare school teacher, ages five to twelve.
Clinical Technician at a research center for adult volunteer bi-polars and schizophrenics.
And now I do...technical support for a Fortune 500 company.

Wow, that really sounds like I switch jobs often. Trust to know that it's because I couldn't stand to work with crazies (face to face) anymore.

If you can make $2000 per weekend why would you care about having a Monday to Friday job?

If you have an addictive personality you'll get hooked into the drugs and such. but if you don't and you are shrewd, you can make a lot of money and have plenty of time to pursue other interests.

As far as relationships, I suspect some guys would get turned on by it, some guys would stay far away from you and many guys would get turned on by it until you got into a serious relationship at which point they would want you to give it up.

For me it would depend on the type of place and the individual. If it was a strip joint where men could touch I wouldn't go near you. If it was a no touch joint I have no problems with that. Then it would just depend on chemistry, values, goals, etc.

Heather, this might be old news, but did you ever hear the famous Arnold Schwarzenneger prank call to Gateway Customer Support?
