For me it's black and white.

I either find you insufferable, in which case you are slapped with ignore.....

OR

I think you are wonderful or at least salvageable as a human being in which case you dodge my ignore list.

SEX has never factored into my decisions.

*fuck me..I never factored in banned members into my counting.
And, let me say that inclusion into my ignore list is the kiss of death for any persons LPSG membership.

It's a proven fact.

I've only ever put one person on ignore, a male. While I've thought of putting other's on ignore, most of the time I just skip over their posts if I don't care to read them. Unless someone is bothering me, I probably will not use the ignore function again.

I really need to use ignore more often. I have the most on ignore right I've ever had right now, 12 people. The first one was female. I'm probably never taking her off ignore. I had another female on ignore for a short time when we were arguing, but I took her off. Neither are regular posters now. Three out of twelve are banned.

There are a few threads I've seen that are chock full of people I should have put on ignore.

OK, I'm out of the loop here. I don't have anyone on ignore, and not sure how to do it. And I'm not sure if I want to. No offense, but there are very few people on this board that I take seriously anyway. And most of them are women.

I guess I've never really been anyone's target so no one bothers me too much.

Can I start? All men are assholes. There. Take your best shot!

All the women I would have put on ignore turned out to be the same worman and are all now banned and prob will be in the future as well. They are sooooo entertaining while here that I hated to ignore them.

'course here's the deal: a number of members will always believe that if we put a man on ignore it's because we're man hating harpies, but if we put a woman on ignore it's because we're jealous. they will never believe it's simply because we think the person is an arsehole.

That's true.

I'm usually shocked when the "you're just jealous" line comes out, but it happens a lot. I think it says a lot about how that person thinks of women

I just remembered this from back when I was new. I laughed in chat once when collegeqt83 (or whatever her name was) was in chat wearing nothing but lingerie and she started showing off her dildo collection. It was the point when she declared that she had never used any of them because she was a virgin that made me start laughing. My laughter bounced around the chatroom from speaker to mic to speaker to mic so that it sounded like I was laughing in an echo chamber. I couldn't help it. It was such a ridiculous thing to claim for a woman with no apparent shyness and such a huge need for sexual attention (she showed any body part on request) and with such a large dildo collection. One of my own friends scolded me for "being jealous."

As a mod, I don't put people on ignore/block because I can't moderate what I can't see.

I have however made one exception and this person goes straight on block every time they enter the chat room, because no word of a lie, if I had to see what was being said, I'd get myself banned, I wouldn't be able to stop myself...

This one exception happens to be female, and though I've never counted, if I was just a member, I'm pretty sure I'd have more women on ignore than men. It's not that I don't like women, or like men better, there are just certain things that rub me the wrong way and I see those things more often from women than I do men (Note, I'm speaking ONLY about the percentages of women and men I personally see doing those things, and in no way expect that to represent the population as a whole, or the experiences of others!)

The only 2 people I have on ignore - are women.
And it's for my own health. Every time I read a post of theirs, my eyeballs threaten to roll so far back into my brain, they may be unretrievable.

Well, sex always factors into my decisions - and spite, at least when it comes to putting people on ignore. :p However, I've almost immediately taken them off again, cos I'm too nosy as to what their posts might be saying.

I have a couple of questions about ignore. Doesn't it make the flow of conversation you see on a thread awkward if you can't see the posts of the members you have on ignore but others respond to their posts? Also, from reading some threads, it seems as though you can see an ignored member's post if someone else who you aren't ignoring later quotes it. Is that true?

Now of course, the only people who will see these questions will be those who don't have me on ignore.

Sometimes it does make the flow of conversation seem a bit awkward, but depending on who you have on ignore, it can be worth it. It gets tough to ignore someone when people keep quoting the ignored person, because then you're almost forced to see what's being posted.

For myself, I only ignore people, men always, who post really ugly, hateful and disturbing posts. I also have men on ignore from Straight Porn - men who think rape is funny, raping unconcious women is ok, etc. Men like that.....well, I ignore them because they might get a slap on the wrist here, but they are still here. I don't apologize for my ignore being almost all men. It's men who think rape is funny. It's men who scare me with their hatred of women. Not all men - but the men on my ignore list.

Anyway, once they're on ignore you can see that you're skipping over their posts and have the option to peek at their posts. I usually don't. No good comes from it. When they get quoted a lot in a thread - I quit reading the thread.

As to the two women I had on ignore. Previously banned women who had nothing but critcism and hatred.

I don't ignore people who are just general jerks. It's a very specific type of hatred that I can't tolerate - something that feels almost dangerous to me. For the most part, forum ignores that I have, end up getting banned eventually, so my instincts must be right. Now if the mods would just get on board with me! lol

I am sure some have me on ignore and I don't give a fuck

My opinions are my own and I am not part of the cliquish mentality

Also when seeing the post count for some people, I feel sorry for them

1/2 of my ignore list. Haha yeah that's one out of two haha she lied about me. Number one I can't stand liars in general but make a statement about me that's a lie - Fuck you. Ignore. There's enough dick to go around in these here parts.

I suddenly wonder which members are on the most people's ignore lists?

I just added another woman to my list.

I think it makes sense that there would be more men than women on most women's lists. After all, there are only a handful of women here. If 5% of the entire population were obnoxious assholes regardless of gender, then 5% of all the men on LPSG would be more than the entire population of real females here, I bet! Assuming that a person wasn't biased towards or against one gender, a person would have to have more men than women on their list.

As a stunning lady myself, I don't ignore anyone. I don't really get angry, I simply respond to their stupid/offensive post(s) and carry on. I mean, I do get annoyed etc. (I called someone 'a dick' once! Never again, it didn't feel right.) I don't know, it just doesn't bother me too much. If I feel I can add something to a conversation, I will. I view it as a debate. Take this as an example, "Men eat cheese - women don't." I'll respond logically and point out that I've witnessed women eating cheese and link to a YouTube video demonstrating that fact. Although they're silly and may be annoying, I won't feel the need to ignore them.

You are fucking hilarious and have scary insight. I do not know whether to laugh or be afraid. I think: both.
