Actually, at that point my brain is more interested in doing a mental multiple regression to best estimate the function of his curve. Is it linear? Quadratic? Cubic? Components of each? And what is the direction as well as magnitude of each function.

The real problem is that you'd never be able to converge on a solution for the parameter estimates!
