Anyone else affected by the recent layoffs announced over the last couple of days? Just got my 60 day "surplus" notice. Fuck!

Sorry to hear that tbnd. If you don't mind me asking, what dept did you work in? That will impact your next course of action.

I've been lucky so far, but I do know how you feel as it has happened to me twice in the past, the last time I was out of work for seven months. Hang in there, I'm sure you'll find something soon.

we need to lay off some useless CEO's
Along with some idiot politicians and union bigwigs but they would proably still get their golden parachute retirement plans :duh:

I agree, I watched the hearings this afternoon and did you notice that each of the CEO's of the automotive said that they drove to Washington this time in hybrid cars, big fucking deal.
Actually I heard that they were shiped in by semi trucks and just driven in to the city :tounge-in-cheek:

500,000 out of work this month. :frown1:

It is actually an understatement. Not only had job losses for October and September been underestimated, but today's number does not include the half-million plus people who have exited the workforce (presumably out of frustration).
