I'm watching this video on zoning laws in Japan and it made me wonder, is America truly free? I know we like to say that about ourselves, but is that true or just hype?
In the video they bring up just how much more free the Japanese are to do what they want with their land and how NIMBYism is basically unheard of. In America the desire to control those around you is so strong, that in some areas you have to get approval from your neighbors to paint your own house. Is that truly freedom?
How do you define freedom and how does it compare to the American concept of freedom? Is America especially free compared to other nations?
