The validity of one argument over another is backed with facts and facts alone with one fact either approving / disapproving the other. The question you asked about what difference does it makes ...makes me realize how little you know about research. Mind you subjectivity has no basis in research you have to observe everything objectively. Don't discriminate because i'm teaching something you new.

For research First you try to establish the validity of the argument...once its established only then you can research and come with talk like what impact it would have in changing the general opinion and mindset regarding size and stuff. I mean was the topic of mass human extinction even considered before the atomic bomb was built?
