I was just wondering if there is any truth to the idea that only big cocks point downward when erect. I've also heard smaller cocks point upward but being nearly 8 inches myself with a very strong upward curve when fully engorged, I can say this isn't true. However in porn and on this site I would say it is rarer, and the really huge cocks do tend to point very straight or downward.

What do you think?

It's less obvious when I'm stood up when gravity comes into play, but mine has a noticeable upward curve.

And it's strange to me that up-curvers seem to be a bit rarer, because it's the downward pointing ones that look unusual to me. You know what you know, I guess.

The idea that only big cocks point downward comes about because of the "pseudo" standard of measuring size that is out there. The one where you can only measure the topside your penis to gauge it's size.

In reality, this is a terrible way to measure penis size.

Displacement would be the most accurate way because it would take into account both length and girth simultaneously.

The topside only "pseudo" standard of measuring also greatly caters to penises that have downward curves because those guys are getting to measure the longer side of their penis VS. us upward curving guys who are having to the measure the shorter side of our penis. It has always been my belief that guys with downward curves are the ones who perpetuate this method as the "way to do it".

Personally, if I measured along the bottom side of my penis it would be 9" long. However, along the topside it's more commonly in the 7.5-8" range. If you "flipped" my penis and made it a downward instead of an upward curve then I would be 9" on the topside. The reverse is true for downward curves (i.e. topside longer/bottom side shorter).

Someone did a great illustration of this using a banana on a thread a while back. I will see if I can find the pic and post it here.

Yes, I've always thought this. I can get near 8 at max erection on the top side but measuring honestly from the bottom, over 8.

I realize there are big penises with an upward curve, I am more curious about smaller or average with a downward..

Oh, there are plenty of those out there as well!

I actually really like the aesthetics of a downward curving cock myself.

Well pseudo guys being the doctors! The way to measure is precisely to do it on top because if you do it under your penis can measure pretty much anything you want because our anus is the limit... Testicles you can pretty much push them back as you wish... So to avoid this kind of tactics you use the one on the top... Besides regardless of how much you can push the ruler to your testicles... You wont be able to insert your penis beyond the pubic bone... So it's just in sake of accuracy...
