It was over a million strong. The March wasn't an Anti-HealthCare Reform Rally. Most people in this country want good healthcare reform...they simply don't want or believe in ObamaCare. The March was about Deficit Spending and Taxes and bad policies of the Obama Administration and the Democratically controlled Congress...that's why so many people marched. And the March Organizers no doubt care about the direction the country is headed. The organizers care about deficit spending and major reform efforts like Obamacare that exacerbate that problem while reducing quality of care.

Deficit spending came about long before the Obama administration. So did corporate bailouts while CEOs stuffed their pockets with millions. Not a peep from any of the organizers then.

And if you look at the latest polls, in spite of all of the lies told about the healthcare reform initiative of this administration, most people still want healthcare reform.

Even with the latest proposals that address so-called "concerns" of the far right (re. coverage of "illegals", coverage for abortion, and such) conservatives are still stalling, balking, hemming and hawing.

That's because in truth, they want NO reform.

Bingo.

Through all the din and acrimony at least one thing should be clear: Bankrupt of ideas or leadership, the right has slunk back to the only place where it has proven itself to be well suited: mindless obstructionism, knee-jerk opposition, stalling, etc.

Now if only that was a valid and acceptable excuse for Obama and the Democrats to lead us to ruin! Please stop with that nonsense and tell the President to stop trying that tired mess too. Obama was elected for CHANGE - his word and proclamation! Obama ran on a campaign that he had the plan and wherewithall to lead us out of the massive problems America faced so please do not use that ridiculous playground whining "but Georgey did it."

And if you look at the latest polls, in spite of all of the lies told about the healthcare reform initiative of this administration, most people still want healthcare reform.

Yeah, I actually said that if you read what you quoted for me. Just because people want reform, doesn't mean they want what Obama and the Democrats are attempting to cram down the throats of Americans. They do not have the right plan to improve healthcare and the American people know it!

Even with the latest proposals that address so-called "concerns" of the far right (re. coverage of "illegals", coverage for abortion, and such) conservatives are still stalling, balking, hemming and hawing. That's because in truth, they want NO reform.
As I posted previously, all the bills in congress are deeply flawed and simply killing the public option is not enough. And addressing their lies regarding illegals and abortion is not enough. Government control of healthcare in the exchange and market place has provisions that are unacceptable and I have outlined them in previous posts. The CBO has determined that the bills add to the deficit and do not bend the cost curve. That is not the reform we want.

Eliminating the Public Option Is Not Enough
Even if the public option is excised, the healthcare bill under consideration by Congress would still impose a heavy blanket of federal regulation on every aspect of insurance and healthcare itself.
The government would determine what interventions “work” and are included in plans’ coverage. This would include a judgment on what is cost effective—does a treatment justify its cost? The government would put a monetary value on the number of years a patient’s life is extended or improved. Would everyone’s life be valued the same?

The government would mandate enrollment practices; regulate how premiums are determined; specify what co-payments can be collected; and dictate how much of the premium would have to be paid out for claims. The government would switch money back and forth among plans (“risk adjustment”) to compensate plans that cover a larger share of sick people.

It would impose “uniform marketing standards” on insurance plans and regulate how plan documents are written to ensure that they use “plain language.” Although the evolving legislation manifestly fails this test itself, it requires insurers to use language that is “clean, concise, well-organized, and follows other best practices of plain language writing.” To help the hapless insurers in this task, the newly created health choices commissioner would “develop and issue guidance on best practices of plain language writing.”

The newly created health choices commissioner would take bids from plans, negotiate with them, and enter into contracts with selected plans. This opens the way for undefined and unchecked informal regulation of plans, including, for instance, the number, type, and location of providers included in a plan, and how they are paid. The government would be able to use the contract mechanism to introduce any requirement it wanted, including social policies in favor at any particular time.

Contrary to what you assert, the Republicans have put forth reforms that the American people would love to support: Preventing private insurance from denying for preconditions or extensive care, tort reform, adding to competition by opening healthcare across state lines, allowing small businesses to group, and subsidies for low income families and the poor - all without breaking the bank.

They want reform just like the American people...they don't want Government takeover of healthcare. The Government has failed to cost effectively manage all it's other programs and WE won't risk our health and our lives on that record.
