I love latino men. My boyfriend is chicano. But I have dated and/or bedded Cubans, Puerto Ricans, Argentines, Colombians, Mexican, etc. I do like the contrast in skin tones. I like the rich culture and the diversity amongst the people. Plus, latino men usually have some dunk in their trunk. Puerto Rican men, from eating all the rice and beans, usually have the fattest, plumpest asses.

As a fellow Latino dude, I think it's funny that another Latino dude would find his own kind "unattractive." Seems a bit self-loathing to me.

Another thing - Latino dudes don't all have "caramel skin and curly hair." Latinos come in all shades, sizes, and hair textures.

You tell im' Gio!
Thank you Gio you are always so reasonable.........:tongue:and sexy!
I just happen to like dark, cafe con leche', curly hair or straight my preferences in men run to short dark and well latin!

Latino is a tricky term because most people interpret it to mean anyone with a Spanish speaking heritage in any of the countries in the Western Hemisphere where the people usually are descendents of Spanish settlers and indiginous peoples. Most also associate the darker skinned Spanish speaking people as "latino" but not always whiter skinned Spanish speaking people, as many in certain parts of the U.S. and Mexico are. Add that to the fact that modern day Italian is closer to Latin than Spanish is and the term seems all the more mysterious.

People in Brazil are considered latino, though they speak Portuguese. This is appropriate because Portuguese is a Romance language derivative of Latin as Spanish and Italian are; but so is French and Romanian. Why aren't French-Canadians or Italian-Americans considered "latino" as well? Some Italian and French men have that gorgeous olive skin tone and are often mistaken as latino on sight but are never classified as latino. The most famous "Latin Lover" of all time is Cassanova, who was Italian. Sorry to go off on that tangent, it's just something that's always bugged me as someone with both Spanish and Italian heritage. I can be considered "Latino" but I'm really not comfortable with the term. Oh, and I tan nicely but am quite pale in winter months. I do have the olive tone to boot.

I am attracted to latino men but really I'm more into the whole package... there are men of different ethnicities that I find hot and attractive. Dark skin is beautiful in all it's various shades but so is white skin. That said, latino men are just more passionate when it comes to sex. They genuinely seem to be into whoever they are with and it just makes for a hotter experience. I may be biased on this one but something tells me there's a lot of truth to this. As for the big schlong latinos comment, maybe it's just guys around here but most seem to be average in size. I've come across far more big dicked anglo/caucasian guys than latino guys here.

Well, its all in the eyes, and sometimes in the pants. You kinda expect latinos to have big, thik, uncut cock. My luck, my Rican lover of 22 yrs didnt have that. Sure, I find the 1 latin guy that aint hung. ;-( . But really, they usually have an intensity about them, and IF they have an accent, it adds to the attraction for ME ...

Tardis, like the picture of the firefighters. As you can see by even that pic, even Latino men come in different shades from dark skinned (almost black) to very light skinned. It is an interesting mix for sure. Genetics and paternity/maternity have a lot to do with the coloring. I find the Latino culture (I can only speak for Puerto Rican men) very interesting. I obviously asked many questions to my b/f the few times we have been to Puerto Rico. Why are some so dark and others so light? Without getting in to a diatribe here, he explained it all and I find it very interesting.

Well..having had a few Puerto Rican Women in my day....I can tell you..its because of the slave trade that Puerto Ricans look like they do....Puerto Ricans are a mixture of Spanish, Tiano (Native American) and Black....thats why they have different colors...People , when left to their own devices, don't give a rat's ass what color you are if they are horny.

My "friend" was very amerindian looking (coffee complexion with long straight black hair)...her sister looked black...with curly black hair...and her brother looked white....go figure.

bb9239,

Exactly. Again my experience is only with one Puerto Rican man but he is more than happy to explain his heritage. A couple of the in-laws in his family you would never think were Latino, they look more African American. If you go back in their gene pool there is more "black" than anything else but they are Latino. You also see some that are so white you would never classify them as Latino but they are. They just picked up more of the Spaniard background than the rest.

My b/f is more in the middle, has very straight hair actually (not as straight as mine but close), and as jjkirkwood said still has that strong accent. He speaks English VERY well but in his English there is still that strong accent; I'm still trying to roll my "R's" like he does. It's never going to happen!

And his eyes are very very dark brown, they glisten and melt...mmmm, mmmm!!

Why, thank you, cigarbabe. I find lots of different types to be attractive. It's never been about ethnicity for me...it's always been about body type, personality, and confidence.

Yo, Jay1074 - this is a really good, honest point of view regarding the term "Latino." It is a problematic term when it comes to what exactly the word encompasses. I'm not sure I agree with you on the assertion that "most" people associate dark-skinned, Spanish-speaking people with the word "latino." The term itself refers to a person of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture or origin regardless of race (or skin tone, IMO). While some people criticize this term because some see it is an umbrella term used by those who don't want to deal with the individual ethnicities themselves, I find power and solidarity in the term. There have been divisions between some of these ethnic groups within the "latino" umbrella. So, anything that helps to foster a sense of unity and common purpose - even among our divisions and differences - is a good thing, IMO.

...and by the way, I have Italian and Greek ancestry, as well. This is the rub of identity politics. Is there a word to describe what I "am" (besides the word "mut")? No. But I do identify with my hispanic/latino heritage a lot more than I do with my distant Italian and Greek heritage. That doesn't mean I don't respect or want to know more about them...or that I am any less one or the other. Again...this is the rub of identity politics. :Eyecrazy:
