Irish twitter beside themselves saying queer spaces are safe spaces and no one should record anything and posting this is a breach of privacy.
They are also saying that this is not cheating as Leo is in an open relationship and everyone in gay Dublin knows it. Bit of a breach of privacy itself I would say! If Leo is in an open relationship it is up to him to share that info or not.
I don't buy into this queer spaces as safe spaces. I have only ever been sexually assaulted in queer spaces. This attitude enables abusers.
Very true, they are absolutely open. But I hate to say this, but if you don't want something like this leaking, don't do it in public. It's very easy to arrange a private meeting, going to a public club is asking to be videotaped. Everybody understands this and if you don't, you're a damn fool. To claim that the problem here is a random dude who decided to take his phone out. Just completely misses the forest for the trees. There is no breach of privacy, as there is no expectation of privacy in public according to Irish law.
In terms of the openness aspect, that also poses many problems. What types of things is Leo likely to divulge to somebody when he is under the influence of alcohol or other drugs? He's a head of state, for God's sake. Not having any discretion and doing stuff like this is many would argue a threat to Irish security. It's just absurdly immature as well.
