I believe that most straight guys believe that the women are not pure lesbians, but bi and the men fantasize that if they were present they would be invited to join in.
Why are lesbians more socially acceptable to both men and women then gay men. Many women have openly admitted to experimentation. Not too many men admit to it.

the main appeal is good old-fashioned denial. most people, especially men, are so insecure about their own sexuality that they panic at any potential "challenge" to it.

this presents a problem for their fragile egos, because as human beings we are programmed to respond most strongly to visual stimuli, and the more intense the stimulus the better the response - i.e. to the average healthy member of the appropriate gender, a guy and a girl going at it hot and nasty is generally more arousing than either a guy or a girl on their own. this isn't on the level of preference or even specific sexuality; it's just that our brains are structured to process information in that way. when you happen across sexual media of this nature, your brain sits up and takes notice even if you've no physical interest yourself (i.e. straight sex if you're entirely gay).

however, the modern straight male cannot ever admit, even to himself, that he might derive some titillation or arousal from anything remotely associated with another man's body. to do so would open up the issue of self-exploration, something most human minds are simply too shallow and flimsy to support. even in cases where they're not, comprehensive indoctrination / peer pressure will ensure that the sight of another male's genitals - or even the potential risk of such - will cause an actual fear-aversion response (not on the level of a panic response by any means, but enough to cause an appreciable level of discomfort).

Yes, it is! Once again, I agree with you wholeheartedly. I think as a society there is also an incredible fear of anal sex. Since there's no penetration with two women, there's less to fear. I think the main complaint in the str8 world with gay men is based on that fear.

Exactly, Dr Rock! And "pathetic" is a great word for it too, but I'd also note that it's incredibly destructive . This ridiculous level of insecurity leads to needless hate and violence and death. It's infuriating. Criminal.

Well, the fear I mentioned is of anal sex, and I realise that it&#39;s POSSIBLE for women to have anal sex with dildos, it&#39;s far less likely that they will, since women don&#39;t have prostate glands and there&#39;s no big "payoff" for us. I would have to guess that the majority of women who engage in anal sex do so primarily to please their partners, but I can&#39;t imagine it being a big part of lesbian sex, just my .02

Well, that&#39;s always been my complaint with the str8 world- it&#39;s too boring&#33; I do believe that&#39;s what str8 guys (and probably most woman too) think of when they think of gay male sex. Since they don&#39;t see it as "normal" they have no capacity to understand the multitudes of kinds of sex, layers of emotions, or anything else that encompasses the lifestyle of others. It&#39;s judgemental and rude, but then why be surprised when bush is in office?

This topic has been brought up with some of my friends before, and it is hard to put an exact reason out there. We generally follow the guideline of: 1 hot girl = GOOD, 2 hot girls = REALLY REALLY GOOD. Our thoughts tend to attach to the fact that there are twice as many breasts to see and just more to focus on overall when thinking about lesbians. I do agree that if they were 100% lesbians, then my interest level drops because I&#39;d have no chance in hell of seeing myself with them.

Personally, I really wouldn&#39;t see a single problem in women openly saying that they like watching two gay guys. If they like men, then its the same pattern. Two dicks just might be more fun to watch for some ladies (and a lot of you guys) out there.
