The sad part about this is that if you strictly adhere to the teachings of a religion, you are going to have to try to convert others as part of following. I wish it wasn't that way and each could follow their own path to only do what is best for them, and helping to make the world a little better along the way. Reminds me of a part in the movie "Dogma". The disciple is talking about how important it is that people simply have faith. But they take this and turn it into something that can get really ugly by adding all these rules and holy quests. I tend to look at things this way: I picture a higher power (be it a spirit, deity, etc.) as being a big-assed cut diamond. With each face (religion/path), you are looking at only one side of the diamond. I find it better to move a little further back and look at all sides and how they are each a part ofthe same damn thing. Unfortunately, we too often see what makes us different to drive us apart than see how we are all connected and the same to bring us together. There isn't one path that is going to suit everyone, but all paths have a way of making yourself better.
