This thread is full of lols. Has anyone else noticed the explosion of conservative posters recently? I feel like every time they multiply, they get a little bit stupider. I think it's because they're sharing one brain.

I've never really understood what an American means by 'Liberal'.

And as for the atheist Argument; duh. Someone who believes that the world was created in 6 days, and manages to look past the thousands of inaccuracies in that series of words known as the bible clearly isn't intelligent.

I don't think I could deal with living in America - where religion is taken seriously and sane, rational thinkers are in the minority.
I'm so glad I live in the UK - where the vast majority of people are de facto atheists/agnostics.

Some people here need to take a look at the Political Spectrum.
Liberalism IS Centralism, they're not different things.

Socialism and Communism are Left.
Liberalism is Centrist.
Conservatism and Fascism are Right.

I find American politics hilarious.
2 parties, both of them Conservative, both of them standing for the same things. There is greater differences in the same parties here than between the Democrats and Republicans.
On that note, what is with those names?
Are the republicans not democratic?
And are the democrats monarchists?

America keeps ranting about spreading democracy around the world - it wants to try introducing democracy closer to home.

One doesn't have to be a fundamentalist Christian to believe that the totality of existence is beyond the human mind's capacity to understand. In fact to deny such a thing is pretty ignorant. There will always be a knowledge gap. Existence, and nonexistence is quite incomprehensible really.

Attributing too much of this knowledge gap to some higher power is ignorant. To buy completely into what is clearly a man-made method of coping with our lack of understanding is stupid.

To pretend that the gap is completely within the power of the human mind to comprehend is also willfully ignorant.

Believe it or not there is a huge middle ground between Creationist and atheist. And you'll find plenty of rational thinkers along the spectrum, not merely on the atheist side...I'm so glad I don't live in a place that spurns religion and spirituality as the opiate of the masses. Self-importance is the cocaine of the masses.

EDIT: I should amend...agnosticism seems far more rational to me than atheism.

biting my lip until I have time to sit and imbibe:ziplip:

(usual little red book responses from the unread, simple-minded, insensate atheistic libs make it no fun unless I've had a few)

interesting theory, quietguy & nwnccpl.

However if this study is supposed to imply that men with higher IQs are less likely to cheat, I suspect that they'd equally be smart enough to fucking lie about the number of sex partners they've had on a stupid goddamn "confidential" survey!!!

In absolute terms, yes.

However, in a democracy liberalism is left and conservatism is right.

I find American politics hilarious.

Me too.

You couldn't be further from the truth with this statement.

There is greater differences in the same parties here than between the Democrats and Republicans.

dude - did you just finish a book by Marx? You are introducing a form of government [that has never existed in the West] from 50 years ago in the USSR as some kind of barometer for your arguments?

Seems to me that those self-identifying as "conservative" are probably less affluent on average than those self-identifying as "liberal". Average IQ differences have been recorded between many groups, and it isn't as simple as "they're stupid."

Just looking over the posts of Starpooper and comparing them to the many posts of those he accuses of being liberal is enough evidence for me to buy into the theory that liberals might score 2 to 5 points higher on an IQ test.

I'd bet good money that you have the highest IQ in your trailer park. Well, at least the highest among the immediately adjacent trailers.

Yay for Midlife!!

He's the trailer park wizard...the Obi-Wan Kenobi of Cowville, Nevada.

And that's the BEST you can do? Starpooper, poor little low SAT score child, (or did you luck out and get into a school that only required the ACT?).

It's rather interesting that you've decided people who live in trailer parks are somehow not as good as you. Yup. That's right in character for a 30-something white guy living in the midwest whose general ignorance leads him to smugly believe he is smarter, better, and a greater 'Mericuhn than people who do live in mobile homes.

I never said I was better than those who reside in trailer parks.

My assertion is simply that trailer parks are generally not a destination in which you will find a hotbed of intellectual activity.

And now Starpooper claims that he is smarter, better, and a greater 'Mericuhn" because he asserts trailer parks are not places where one might find many intellectuals? Again, he's not aware of how many graduate students live in mobile home parks and "trailers" in university towns because of the lower cost of living that fits into their school budgets. Hmmm. . . the poopster is truly an archetype: the elitist, poorly educated, conservative white 30-ish threatened male from the burbs.

Suffering his rantings begs the question: What would Gilligan do? :bigok:

I'm not sure about raw IQ but...
The evidence suggests that education is associated with holding more progressive or liberal beliefs. The more educated a person is, the more liberal they tend to be.
Intelligence has been negatively correlated to religiosity. The more intelligent someone is, the less likely they are to be religious.

Since conservatives in the US are predominantly less educated and more religious than their liberal opposites, I think it would be fair to say that they're dumber. I mean come on, has anyone seen the Tea Party people? Compare those ignant fucks to the "radical left" fringe of environmental and social justice activists...no contest.

Hmm. Has anybody seen the people that hang out in the liberal-dominated ACORN facilities?

Compare those to the 'radical right' fringe of Tea Partiers with jobs and high school diplomas..many times college and beyond.....no contest.
