Watching Life of Ryan right now, it's pretty obvious that this so-called "reality show" is in fact scripted. The dialogue is so awkward and forced. You can really tell with the little brother that he doesn't like, or isn't good at, acting. He seems really awkward. It's really awful. It seems like a non-mafia version of the awful Growing Up Gotti.

Most of the "reality" programs on MTV are, in my opinion, scripted. Everything is too perfect and neat i.e. camera work, acting, story line, etc....

That's the main thing that gave it away, in my opinion. The story line was too smooth. No one's life really happens this way. No one's real life wraps up in 30 minutes.
