A friend of mine on MySpace posted a bulletin about this... thought I'd share!

Bristol-Myers Squibb, the pharmaceutical monolith that charges nearly $1,000 for a 30 day supply of one of its HIV/AIDS medications, is donating $1 to the National AIDS Fund for each person who simply visits their website and "virtually lights a candle." The tally is near 1,000,000 now.

Please, please take a minute to "light a candle":

Light To Unite

This really will take just a second!! Please forward this on to other friends!

P.S. Please, take a few seconds to repost this so that the word can get out to as many people as possible. Thank You!

This was posted in ''New Member Introductions'' a few hours earlier by ''ihatemylife''.The 2nd post says the maximum they will donate is $100,000 so the target's been reached but you can still show your support.

... or not.

"Lighting a candle" doesn't help anyone at this point; Bristol-Myers Squibb set a very low cap on the maximum amount of their donation in the fine print, and they've already reached that cap.

For more information, see this thread.

Candles are too useful to waste like that.

How about taking a minute to "light a government institution"?

Amen brother.
