It seems having a limp wrist is something a stereotypical guy does or have, but I don't think I've ever actually seen it. Do some gay men actually do this and is there any reason behind it?

There is no "reason" behind it, its become a parody of itself however and I doubt many (myself included) would be caught dead limp wristed.

However there are effeminite gay men out there, to which the limp wrist is associated and I am sure some have a literal limp wrist but I doubt its something that is thought about and done on purpose.

I am also sure there are people who do it on purpose, used in part parhaps as a way of letting people know they are gay, but a limp wrist action alone is hardly an indicator of someones sexuality.

Do some gay men have limp wrists? Yes.

Why? Because some gay men have limp wrists.

Do some straight men have limp wrists? Yes.

Why? Because some straight men have limp wrists.

I have a limp wrist from time to time. Quite often recently. I don't think I'm gay. Or am I turning?

Are you even clear on what your username is this week?

Sometimes I've seen gay men do it as a form of body punctuation. I've also seen men who do it and do it and do it until you realise that that is the way they are.

mickswim agrees - sometimes they can't help themselv's it's programmed .
...sometimes it's just theatre and they don't know no better ...
everyone does it - why does one limp wrist translate to ...
a blog ?? LOL

just razzin ya - it's all funny - but gay men ain't the one that should look at this phenom - a lot of non-pink people do it - just take a look tomorrow ... and smile everytime you realize it's true !

I've seen some gay men with a 'limp wrist', however it always seems like an affectation to me. I know for some men it just comes naturally, it's not a put on. Then for others I think it's part of their persona, think Carson Kressley on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.
