My point is that the models on CF, for example, were being coached to rim, to suck, to finger, kiss, grope, etc. The OF guys seem to put more emphasis on working with other OF guys who have big followings. The guys get together and hash out what they're going to do, but likely don't spend much time on the planning. They also aren't using multiple cameras (although some do). It's also likely that the OF guys just do what they like because they aren't being directed.

Knowing what you like -- or doing what you like -- as a gay man is not the same as knowing how to film what your audience wants to see. with OF, the director's/producer's come to the project as performers, not directors. Also, OF customers want a steady stream of new content while studio produced porn, especially before a lot of studios were combined under large umbrellas, didn't feel the same pressure to produce quickly. They could take months to film and edit, spend for sets/settings, etc. With OF, the pairings aren't based on who looks good together for most content providers. The bigger draws work with other big draws as a means of cross-selling. It's like what happened when first cable and then the internet exploded. There were so many channels, there was an explosion in content but a thinning out of quality.
