An update from Casey , nice facilities but no open shower! All brand new cubicles unfortunately which is a bummer, as I saw the purple dot on the map and got excited.
the closest thing they had to an open shower was the rinse-off shower before you enter the spa

That’s strange! That pool is listed on Squirt.Com with photos showing open showers next to some cubicles. I might have to change some dots to blue until they’ve been reconfirmed

I just realised you went to ARC, not RACE (Narre Warren not Cranbourne). ARC used to have open showers, so I’m guessing they’ve had a renovation which is disappointing. However, the open showers had a push button lasting 6-8 seconds, and were opposite mirrors, so they were barely used.

For reference, these photos are of Casey RACE in Cranbourne from Squirt. I do want to confirm in person though.

I’ve got a few out in the East that I need to make time to go to, perhaps in the evening tomorrow if I can be bothered. Considering Eltham (closes 10pm), Healesville (9pm) or Yarra Junction (8pm)

For everyone in Melbourne, I’ve been compiling an interactive map based on places I’ve visited, comments on this thread, and information online. It’s a continued work in progress, so while it isn’t editable by anyone but me (I hope), I’ll gladly update it as people share info. I think I can also add photos to each location, so now is a good time to explore new locations, confirm if there are open showers or not, and take pictures if there are (and you can!). Mainly focused on eastern suburbs, but I want to expand as everyone here contributes in their local area.

Any tips for stadiums / facilities where teams practice, like rugby / AFL, etc? Wouldn't mind accidently getting caught in the showers and lockerroom with a bunch of those lads.

I haven't seen it mentioned here and I haven't been in a few years but the Sunbury Aquatic Centre in Victoria had a row of open showers in its outdoor pool changeroom (down the hall, not the one accessible from the indoor pool). Basically a really long room with lots of benches about six showers tacked onto the side, if you're in the room you have a direct line of sight (I have a very formative memory of seeing one of my high school teachers showering naked there as a teenager).
There's definitely a chance its been since renovated but Sunbury typically doesn't get a lot of council money from Hume so there's every chance its still in tact. I'll give it a look when I'm next in the area.

Eltham leisure centre has closed showers, however everyone there tonight showered with the doors open. They’re in a little hallway though, so nothing to see unless you walk by to get to a free shower

I personally think its a mixed bag.
Id say pre 1980's more higher chances of being cut after mid 1980's id say is less likely to be cut.
I do think thats when it started to decline in Australia a little.

Just my personal opinion but its what ive always thought.

If anyone is planning to go to Lilydale Squash before it closes on Feb 28, let everyone know in this thread. Maybe this Wednesday 9th, or next week on any night. Spa and sauna around 7.30pm and then a long naked shower from 8.30pm until just before close at 9. If there’s only guys in the spa and sauna room, I’ll probably strip off there too just for fun - hopefully some of you can join

I like this idea ! But I think I’ll pass on lilydale as it’s already known by staff for cruising , a large group of men checking in and hitting the showers at the same time might draw unwanted attention
I’ll probably hit up Kilsyth next Monday before close if anyone wants to join
