Can anyone recommend the best time to visit the Japanese bathhouse in Collingwood? Interested to try. Loved the onsen in Japan.

Yes they do casual passes. It’s not too crowded and you get towel service included which is great.

Hi,

I noticed there was threads and list covering the US and the UK, but none for Australia.
I've personally only seen shower cubicles in gym there, with people going with their underwear and undressing when the door are closed; are aussies more shy than the rest of the world?

City Baths is renovating the public member's changing rooms tomorrow, which mean everyone will be using the member's changing rooms for a while. It's bound to get very busy.

They'll also do the member's locker room, as when I was in there quite some time ago there was a builder assessing the shower area for renovations.
Such a shame, I for one won't be going back there.

I'm planning on going to the Japanese onsen tomorrow or Sunday.

I’d like to hear from anyone that’s been about what the process is, how much it costs, is it male only options, what you do and if theres any sexual tension

Heads up they have been closed since 24/10 and aren't re-opening until Tuesday 15/11

My first visit was on the 15 October and it costs $35 for a hour session ($31 for cash) Each session is for approx 6 males (male and female bath/sauna areas are not together)

Staff monitor the area frequently. There was no sexual tension on the day I was there, others may have had a different experience.

I went by myself but it would have been nice to have been there with at least one other person.

Thanks, that’s good to know, by the time the 15th rolls around I’ll be in Sydney anyway, maybe it wasn’t meant to be!

Good to know / also thinking of going to hawthorn and the Japanese onsen.

Would love to try Grand Hyatt but too expensive for membership and no casual.
