lmao!!! haha thought opinions?

WOW..... that is crazy. How could someone like that even think that they are Christian?! This completely baffles me and is probably going to bother me the rest of the day.

Thanks for the post. I really like Louis Theroux's documentaries.

But I personally don't see anything funny/hilarious with this.

I made it through the first ten seconds.

In a world where there's no longer such a thing as bad publicity, giving these people an even-greater soapbox than the one they already preach their hate from, so loudly and publicly, is not really all that clever.

You cannot shame the shameless.

I've seen the entire documentary here:

The Most Hated Family in America | Watch Free Documentary Online

For some reason the person who uploaded the Youtube version is missing part 8, which has an interesting part in it. One of Phelp's grandkids actually seems to have a moment of doubt and she tears up when she talks about how hatefully people have treated her and her family (ironically, as they're pulling up to a protest and you can see her other family members unloading their hateful signs over her shoulder). Her grandfather began protesting when she was in the first grade, and at 21 years old at the time of the documentary, she's never known a normal life where she's been treated decently by "non-believers" so she's been kept in total isolation from the rest of the world, only exposed to her grandfather's insane teachings, which of course reinforces her beliefs that they're righteous and the rest of the world is evil. Fred Phelps has victimized his own children and his own grandchildren.

I didn't think that it was funny in the least, but I did think that it was fascinating. I have always been deeply curious about the phenomenon of cults and small groups of fanatics, from a psychological perspective. It did bother me that their group was getting media attention, but after watching the program, I felt that it harmed his group far more than it could possibly promote them. No commentary was needed when they are so clearly their own worst enemies.
