Local Florida Network news is amateurish.

By Network I mean the ABC, CBS, and NBC affiliates.

I grew up watching NYC news. Now when I watch the local news here I notice the cheap clothes that they are wearing. I never noticed the clothing of the NYC news teams, they must have stylists that know how to pick clothing that is not noticeable or distracting.

Yesterday there was a news report that flashed a caption that read "Last Scene Driving a Blue Corolla".

The reporters do not seem to know what is going on either. There is often some kind of flub during the live reports.

I noticed the same thing on a visit to FL 2 months ago. The local newspapers are the same. Cheap, no real news, poorly express opinions and badly written. They must be products of the local school system Mem. It's pretty bad.

A 10 year old aspiring reporter from Florida wanted to interview Obama. The kid was asked if he thinks Obama will let him interview him. His response was "He may can say yes".

Yes, there are many problems here - mostly disrespect for one another - which leads to a general malaise.

It's time to get ourselves back on track - tourism is our best industry and we better get our act together.

Winter weather is great - that's why we put up with the summers BUT we live here not on vacation BUT too many act like they are on a perpetual vacation.

Been here 20 years - so I know what I've seen - many changes and not all for the good.

Have a great rest of the day wherever you are.

His response was "He may can say yes".

Although gramatically incorrect, that phrase is a common "southernism".
It also has a variant of "might can". Florida, especially south Florida, (also known as South New York) is as far from being southern as Wyoming is, but there are southernisms that have lingered with some people--colloquialisms, food, and social customs.
