I personally think it's hard NOT to notice another guy's privates if he's naked in the shower. As long as you're not crossing the line into overt gawking/cruising, it certainly isn't a sign of homosexuality merely to observe another man's penis.

Yeah, its usually just a glance. Crusing guys is'nt my thing. My fear is if I glance at the wrong person ( a guy whose looking for action) and starts to follow me around.

All because of a innocent glance

Nothing wrong with looking... In fact I am sure every guy does. It doesn't make you homosexual. I mean, just because I look at dogs doesn't mean I am into beastiality. It's human nature to look. :D

A cock is a body part just like any other part. You don't think, "Oh, shit! I looked at his elbow! What is he going to think?" You have to keep your eyes open to avoid walking into walls and other people, and your gaze is bound to be met with a variety of things, body parts included. No one's going to think you're an ass pirate just because your line of vision pans past his schlong. If you drop to your knees and swallow his cock, however, his assumption might be different.

I'm queer as a 3 dollar bill, but would still *look* at a woman if she were standing in front of me stark naked. ;) Its the same for straight guys I think. Look and notice, but it might not do much for you. Its maybe more a competitive thing.

And if I even notice a casual glance at my crotch, you bet! I take that as an open invitation to knock the straight guy to the floor and have my way with him! Gay guys aren't like dogs (usually) and aren't going to start humping your leg for fuck's sake just because you glanced at his dick in a mixed naked-suitable setting!

Why are straight guys soooo afraid of being around naked gay guys? Is it threatening? Scares you? Please explain.

I'm not sure I can explain it all. I know I can't explain it for all straight guys. But here's the deal from my point of view.

There's a kind of unequal balance of power. We're all naked. Fine. No problem with that. It we're all straight, everything is equal. here is no sexual energy at all.

But, if you introduce a gay man into the group, it changes the dymanic. The gay man has sex with other guys. I can speak for all stright guys on this. If you see a girl naked, you think about sex - period. I can't say that gay men all think about sex when they see a naked man, but suddenly the dyanamic becomes sexual. It's a one-sided sexual dynamic. It may very well be the straight guys who are creating sexual dynamic, but it's there.

Again, it's my take and I can't speak for all men - gay or straight. No judgement, just hope that helps explain it. Anyone else have any thoughts to add?

I gotta ask a question for you Str8 guys,
When a guy walks around the locker room naked, does your eyes ever gravitate to his cock by accident?
This happens to me sometimes and I feel so embaressed  . I usually don't realize what happened till after the fact. I don't wanna give anyone the wrong signal ( e.g. "how bout me and you step into the steam room Big Boy ;) )
[post=308220]Quoted post[/post]

I'm not really focused on checking out guy's cocks when showering naked with others. If some guy has a cock hanging down to his knees then I might notice it. The thing that straight guys do is compare their bodies generally with one another. I've had many guys come up to me & make positive comments about my body & I'm appreciative of that. So I just say thanks. I've never had any guy make any comment about my dick. I have had guys stare at me on occasion but most people are respectful & just take their showers & maybe engaged in a little small talk.

I guess if you're interested in checking out cocks in the shower, then maybe you wouldn't have any control over your eyes. But if you just take a shower then your energy is just on that.

No, it doesn't become sexual because it's not in a sexual context. Do you think a heterosexual gynecologist gets a boner every time he sees a patient's vagina? No, because a gynecological exam is not a sexual experience. If I'm going to the gym, I'm going there to work out, not troll for cock. I might see a guy that I find attractive, but I'm not at the gym to look for attractive men. I can't speak for all men, but I don't find the lockerroom to be an erotic setting. Besides, you might not even be my type. If I'm not attracted to you and you're not attracted to me, where's the sexual dynamic?

I hate to break it to all the straight guys, but you are most likely naked in the lockeroom every day with gay guys. We are everywhere. And really scary... what about the Bi guys, golly they must be trying to hump EVERYONE at the gym.

Sure, we may look at some appealing guy and think "now there's a hot fucker", but we certainly aren't going to rush over and offer to suck your cock. It's a thought....just like you seeing a hot woman and you think "boy I'd like some of that", but hopefully, you don't run over and jump her do you? Same thing.

And don't try to tell me straight guys don't sneak a peek standing at the urinal either.

I've definintely had, who I believed to be, straight guys sneak a peek. The reason I know this is they were guys that I worked with who I knew had wives, etc... (I know that isn't the tell all for who is straight and who isn't but it is the best indicator to me). It means nothing to me if they just take a quick glance but if they stare or "glance" multiple times, I begin to wonder what their motive is.

. . . And well you should, indianaman. Your endowment just might cause some straights with wives to overcome their inhibitions and throw all caution to the wind.

We've talked about this issue before. Straight guys are just curious about other guy's bodies & cocks. Especially if they're well-hung. My dad's an old hippie & he says that there used to be a lot more nudity at beaches & other public places when he was my age (26) & that people are more uptight about being naked these days. So maybe most straight guys don't have the chance to see naked bodies, female or male, in person.

I think you hit the nail right on the head with that comment.
When you don'nt see nude people very often ( men or women), and then you find yourself in a setting where there are alot of nude people, you can't help but look......at least thats how it is for me......

My grandpa once told me that when he lived in Minneapolis, you were queer if you didn't shower, or if you didn't swim naked. (This was back when indoor pools were male-only. Women wanted access to the pools, but didn't want the nudity.)

Yeah, this is true, but only in some High Schools around Minnesota. Guys swam naked in the pool.

Well, I for one see sexual overtones in the gym all of the time.
Whether or not you are at the gym for that reason. It does happen.
But, like I've said before, Here in San Francisco, there seems to be more tolerance for
that type of behavior. Lots of guys sporting semi-wood or full on boners in the steam room.
Guys who stare right at your cock while they are lathering up theirs in the showers.
All the way to guys giving blowjobs in the steam room.

Sometimes it feels like a Roman bath house in there.

I have to admit. I think it's fun. I'm just an observer of the situation mostly (in that I don't participate) but it feels lively and somewhat refreshing to see all of these horned up guys playing the chase game right out in the open.

Being Bisexual I suppose does give me a bit of a perspective difference from the 100% str8 guys. I'm not in the least threatened or intimidated or uncomfortable with the sexual energy that is created in that instance. I can choose not to respond annd still enjoy the show.

BTW, I have seen much more aggressive moves from guys trying to pick up women.
I think the Gay games are quite subtle and quite a bit sexier than the full frontal attack that most women have to put up with!

Personally though, if you don't respond to the "look" you get from a guy, he's already gotten the message that you're not into it. Trust me, the last thing a guy at the gym wants is to flirt with someone who is not interested in him.

If the people who post on the lpsg came up with a lockerroom handbook it would be one interesting read. I have to say I'm pretty surprised at the responses to this post (hell even the first post that started it off). I'd say to those guys with the long lists of lockerroom complaints...perhaps you shouldn't go in the lockerroom at all. I can see realistic complaints of harassment, lockerroom lurkers etc. but all that is easily solved with a complaint to the front desk. If a guy is hanging out taking everybody's picture with his camera phone then i'm sure his membership could be revoked. And if the sight of a guy drying his balls is simply too much for you then just come to the gym changed up.

Who said anything about high school? This was at the Y.
