I am copying and pasting this from a reply i gave to another post as I would really like some help...

I had my testsoterone levels checked a couple of years ago and was told they were 14 (I think that is "normal" but on the lower end). I can get an OK erection when masturbating but if I don't touch it for a few seconds it goes soft (I find keeping it hard lying down near impossible). I have found that I lose it during sex a lot too. I am circumcised and have never really enjoyed oral or manual stimulation (by a girl) so i guess lack of sensitivity might have a part to play.

Seeing as recently I seem to be getting better morning erections I am not sure what is happening. What I would like to know is that if I get decent morning erections does this mean my failure to keep it up is caused by low testosterone (I was working out a bit 2 months ago but haven't been to teh gym in a while)?? I started taking Tribex but only yesterday so we will wait and see.

I tried Viagra but didn't find it that helpful (and ciaslis just made me ill). I still needed manual stimulation to get hard (I never get spontaneous erections other than in the morning) and I only noticed a real difference taking 100mg. From some research I have done I have found that viagra doesn't work too great in men with low testosterone and that the"normal" ranges of testosterone are far too wide. I should start working out more, I think, to increase the levels. Anyone have any other suggestions as to what the problem is here. I would say it has been a gradual over the last 3 years that my problem has developed. I am only 25 now...Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

~Your homone levels will be adversely effcted if you are :

    -tired

    -stressed

    -eating lots of junk food

    -cumming too frequently

    -overweight

    -drink too much alcohol

~Your hormone levels will tend to increase if you :

-snack on nuts at night ( raw almonds , cashews )

-lean towards seafood ( steamed , baked , grilled or cooked slowly over a low heat)

    -eat asparagus

    -eat oats

-focus on squats or leg press at the gym( once or twice a is more than enough , as you will need rest)

    - get plenty of rest

I hope these will help !

    Good Day,

I just reviewed your profile. You report a problem with erections. You are certainly young enough to have complete erections by just thinking about sexual activity.

I am not a Doctor licensed to practice medicine. That stated, I would urge you to make an appointment with a "Family Practice Doctor." Clearly state your concerns. Do not be ashamed. The first step to a cure is to admit that you may have a problem. A complete physical may be in order. Your Doctor may also refer you to a specialist.

I certainly feel that you need to resolve this situation. At your age you can not feel that this problem will go away. Please take the steps necessary to achieve total health and also sexual health. I recall with many pleasant memories on how I was spanking the monkey between sexual intercourse with my spouse when I was 25.

Life is far too short to not enjoy it. Doctors cost money and may tell you things you may not want to hear, but it is your life and pleasure that remain at stake.

See a Doctor!!!!!! As with anyone, take what applies and discard the other advice. In this regard, if I am off base, please ignore this message.

Testosterone levels vary by individual. I was told that mine were borderline. I insisted my doctor give me a testosterone patch. It made quite a difference in my life.

Another thing that will have a negative effect on your ability to get and stay hard is smoking. Also certain over the counter and prescription drugs, antihistamines, and stimulants like coffee and caffiene can inhibit your sexual performance. And of course, anxiety over losing a hardon can make the problem worse.

Best of luck in correcting your current bedroom woes.

Smoking has already been mentioned. As in my cause, heriditary high cholesterol has been taking a toll on my ability to maintain erections after reaching the young age of 42, lol. High cholersterol as explained by my urologist can produce the same symptoms of BPH. In the meantime, to rule out other issues I'm scheduled to go into the OR to be sedated for a Cystoscopy on August 22.
For the time being, he prescribed 5mg tabs of Levitra, and let me tell you that drug has given me erections and orgasms like I was having back when I was 13 years old. They have been mind blowing.

Another thing to keep in mind is that some people have an extremely high threshold for sensation and stimulation. Constant attention on your penis may just be something that is neccesary for your enjoyment...

    Dude,

    I agree----SEE A DOCTOR and don't be ashamed.

But here's a weird suggestion--try taking acidophilus--go ask for it at your local health store. Ten bucks for a hundred pills. Sometimes when you get into your mid-twenties, your body stops tolerating certain foods without telling you. If grains are one of them, you can have a yeast overgrowth in your intestines, which will cause sexual issues. Many people have this and don't know it.

I just started taking this and have been very surprised and my increased sexual interest--I'm 29.

In an older guy, one of the first things to suspect is a side effect of a medication. The ones that almost always adversely affect erection are: blood pressure meds angina meds, glaucoma meds, some antiacids and some diabetic meds, and antidepressive drugs, not to mention self medicating with alcohol or drugs. Your doctor may or may not be aware of these problems. You will have to research the drug and its effects on your own and present the facts to your physician!
In your case at age 25, you may not even take a single mediction. You really should not be experiencing such probs at your age. By chance are you experiencing a problem with sexual orientation?
Whatever, guy, the problem is manageable. Good luck in doing so!

Maybe this is somehow politically incorrect, but perhaps you haven't gotten together with a partner who really turns you on?

Yes... turn on is important. Try fantasizing about something different.

Also.. and Im glad to finally have a reason to post this... ZINC !!!

Zinc is vital for all your plumbing ( male and female) it makes everything run at its most efficient, Its like giving STP oil treatment to your car.

It will make you more horny. Be prepared *s*
Don't EVER take it on an empty stomache or you will think your having a seizure or something. Its REALLY hard on you, on an empty stomache.

Also, CHOLINE BITITRATE or phosphatidycholine ( which is a more refined and more potent kind) is CLAIMED ( though I find it to be true, as do many others, and it WON'T hurt ya at all)
claims to routo-route your arteries of sludge and cholesterol and improves circulation. )(ALSO strengthens your heart and lungs, they give it to premature babies for that reason)

ZINC, if you research it, is found in lots of seafood and if I remember right, its highest in oysters.

I had a friend who was depressed for a long time and was kinda shutting down ( socially) then they got a swollen prostate and had problems peeing/couldnt.

After taking 100 mgs of zinc a day for 3 days, his symptoms started to decrease. After about two weeks he knocked it down to 50 mgs a days and still does. No more problems peeing though his doctors scared the hell out of him by saying he was loosing control of his water works.
The peeing problem gave him repeated bladder infections. But after taking the zinc... he hasnt had a problem since.. and thats been quite a few years now.

I used to tell my ex that zinc would bring his hair back, and he took it for a few months and man... I was a happy camper *GRIN* but he found out and was really ticked off. Quit taking it. Such is life.
