When I'm sitting down or lying in bed or having sex in bed, I'll have an erection. But then sometimes when I stand up I'll either lose the erection or it'll become softer. Has anyone else experienced something like this? My blood pressure has been measured to be on the low side before so maybe that's contributing to it.

man, there are a lot of details you are leaving out. are you actively involved in sex? with another person, masturbating, what's your age, etc etc etc

I'm not sure what difference it makes whether I'm masturbating or having sex, but I think I mentioned that it can occur when I'm just lying down by myself or when I'm having sex. I'm 30, slim, although my cholesterol is a little bit high. I exercise fairly regularly.

are you kidding?? pleasuring yourself vs having another person there???? 30 and aroused, you should have a boner for days, go see a medical professional

I think if one reads the op's post he has stated that he has seen a medical professional who had in the past diagnosed him with low blood pressure. As far as I see it, he is not looking for judgement of how he should be performing at 30 years of age, merely asking if others have experienced this too? Always good to read before one posts...

I realize this may have been said tongue in cheek. But it's the sort of oft-repeated statement/advice that can induce undue anxiety in an individual, as well as contributing to the macro pool of misinformation. Suggesting medical attention because someone doesn't "have a boner for days" is potentially harmful. It certainly contributes to the "viagra culture" in which every man must be a rock hard stud ready to fuck for hours every day--and if he doesn't or he can't, then he's not a real man.
