Yes sir, I am. Are you going to spank me with your big cock for disagreeing with you?

With pleasure my jersey love...however, if you give the theory a chance you may find some interest in it regarding LOST. In the Hollow Earth Theories, there exists a mythical city called Agartha, or Shamballa. Did you ever pay attention to the song that is playing on the van's stereo when Ben kills his dad? The song is called Shambala by Three Dog Night.

Plato wrote of Atlantis as well as Hollow Earth Theory.

Here is the symbol for Hollow Earth Theory

And here is the symbol for Oceanic Airlines...

Also, if you read up on Shambala, you will find that the society is believed to be a place where all the inhabitants are enlightened, a Buddhist "Pure Land". The idea of Shambala is said to have anouter, inner, and alternative meaning. The outer being its existence in a physical place, and only individuals with the appropriate karma can get to.

Can that smoke thing actually be karma incarnate? It was set up as a security system on the island to weed out the bad guys. It looks into each person's life to see what they have done and determines his/her punishment. Eko got smashed. Others have lived.

Maybe this was the DHARMA (the others as well) group's intention, to create a Shamballa.

Ok I just did some more reading on Agartha, or Shamballa. This is from wiki:

...Cataclysms and wars taking place on the surface drove these people underground. These were said to include a lengthy Atlantean-Lemurian war and the use of thermonuclear weaponry that eventually sank and destroyed these two highly advanced civilizations. The Sahara, Gobi, the Australian Outback and the deserts of the southwestern U.S. are said to be but a few examples of the devastation that resulted. The sub-cities were created as refuges for the people and as safe havens for sacred records, teachings and technologies that were cherished by these ancient cultures...

...The inhabitants of Agartha are said to have scientific knowledge and expertise far beyond that of the people who live on the surface of the planet, lost technology from the days of Atlantis...

...There are no entrances to Agartha Alpha and Beta from any other part of the planet. The only entrances are in the Gobi desert itself and are secured by illusory technology that is beyond the comprehension of modern science...

In teresting the GOBI desert is mentioned, where the polar bear was unearthed, as well as Atlantis and Lemuria (mentioned elsewhere in this thread). Also, entrances to Shamballa or Hollow Earth are at the poles.

And also, if you look at the symbol for Hollow Earth or Oceanic Airlines, the symbol looks a lot like the decription Plato gave of Atlantis. With a city in the center, surrounded by rings of land with water in between.

An interesting hypothesis, but I have to agree that this season is moving a bit too slowly for my taste. All of the flashbacks, while integral to the plot, seem to be included more to stretch out the episode and I find them somewhat distracting. All in all, however, I have to agree with Skull. I enjoy every moment of the series.

I don't understand the Lost hype.

I have frequently tried to get into this show, but whereas it is a usual problem about TV series to find your way into them if you haven't seen them from Season 1, Episode 1 on, I find this completely impossible with Lost. The character constellation is confusing, the storylines never seem to find an end, plus I have problems with series that drag out the bangs too far. Also, I have never seen a satisfying synopsis that brings me up to date with all persons and story lines so far, on the net.

I guess I'll for always stay out of this series.

The whole problem of tying the hollow earth theories to sunken continents is that if a content has sunk, it has crashed one of the lower levels of that hollow earth, then it will distort the planet's rotation and chaos would ensue.

Modern science has pretty much debunked the hollow earth theory, because were it so, the earth would not have a magnetic field.

I think it has more to do with the mythical cities that exist in the hollow earth legends. Not an actual Hollow Earth. The city of Shamballa is maybe something the dharma initiative is trying to create. A place where no one gets sick, people have telepathic powers, supreme technological advances etc...

I thought it was interesting when that "rescuer" guy said, "the light just doesn't scatter right down here"...possibly hinting at a snowglobe world (which goes along the hollow earth theories) they dropped into...I think there are also numerous mentions of snowglobes throughout the series. The more you look into LOST the more interesting it becomes, if you just watch it for basic entertainment like a lot of other shows you are missing out on a lot of what is in there.

Skull Mason what did you think of last nights episode? I was more annoyed than blown away to see that Sayid used to work for Ben or a Ben look alike off the island! WTF?!?! How come he never gave an inkling that he knew him? Talk about a poker face . . . I would hate to play against him.

I have a feeling, njqt, that what you saw was a flashforward not a flashback. Perhaps Sayid had to make a deal with the devil to get off the island.

Hmmm that would be interesting; but I don't believe Ben would ever leave the island permanently. Especially not to masquerade as a vet.

Yeah I got the impression that it was a flash forward. I am going to watch the episode again tonight and I will report back. However, I did pick up that there is a serious time discrepancy between the people on the island and those outside. This leads further evidence to the island existing in some sort of "snow globe", an electromagnetic one that warps time or space or what have you; think theory of relativity kind of shit.

"the light just doesn't scatter quite right down here" and the time delay in the payload arriving point to it having to go through an electromagnetic field, which scatters light and or delays time in getting through. This may explain why desmond felt like he spent days sailing in circles to get off the island without ever really getting anywhere. This is why Ben gave michael precise coordinates to follow to leave the island, as well as the physicist telling the helicopter pilot to stay the course no matter what. They are basically on an island with a forcefield around it. Mr Ben doesn't want to be found.

But the more I think about it the more interesting it would be to have it be a flashback, and they both had serious poker faces on the island.

I caught that time discrepancy with the payload so I think you are right on that. Ben definetely doesn't want to be caught or leave the island. I wonder if he thinks he will die like Rose.

Also I think the house Locke was looking for has a cloaking device,

It was definitely a fast fordward since Sayid said he won a settlement from the Oceanic Airlines crash. It seems that Sayid is trying to keep his friends safe by killing their enemies. I am guessing that only Ben knows who these enemies are, otherwise Sayid would just go solo and do the jobs himself. As always, Ben saves his trump card.
