Caption on his birthday post Lou Ferrigno Jr. on Instagram: "Being that today is my birthday, I'd like to share something special with you... Growing up I couldn't be trusted to handle any piece of expensive technology, specifically cameras. Parents thought them to be too delicate and too expensive to be within my grasp, so the idea of taking a "selfie" was out of the question... that is, until I crossed this particular Photo Booth. For my entire childhood I felt as though I were merely a background contributor to the stage play of my own life story. Purposefully precluded from spotlight attention, relegated to the shivering cool of an omnipresent shadow cast upon me through circumstance. On better days I stood as a gentle afterthought deprived of autonomy, a decorative element under strict creative control. These 4 "selfies" are the first moments of my young life feeling "seen" for the first time, feeling a sense of freedom to blossom amidst the shine, which for me, felt a lot warmer on my sprit than it otherwise should have. Life has a funny way of teaching you lessons you didn't know you needed to learn if you pay close attention to the micro-moments.
