    Whats peoples opinions ?

Personaly i think it can happen..
When i was about 12 i seen this girl for the first time and she was kissing a fella, she was same age as me.. I always thought that there was something about her and i liked her from that moment..
4-5 years later i ended up meeting her friends out and got to know them and then got to know her and ended up dating.. Only lasted afew months due to not seeing each other enought an stuff, but i think it can happen..
    Any opinions?

I don't know about love at first sight! I do believe in the chemistry. And I do know that you will know "the one" Even if he/she gets away. :(

    Maybe ...

but infatuation or "lust at first sight" or are a lot more likely.

How can you really love somebody before you know them?

If there were really such a thing as love at first sight some of us would never stop looking at ourselves in the mirror.

Nine years ago, I met My Number One boy, fell head over heals on the spot and haven't let him go since. Some times............things are just destined to happen. Everything and everyone has or will find, they're own time and place.

I, too, am a firm believe of lust at first sight, but not love so much. But for a chosen few it does exist, much like living happily ever after with your high school sweetheart.

Here's a thought, follow me now. Maybe those who we lust after (typically your beautiful on the outside bunch) are uglier on the inside, which is initially invisible. Where as those truely wonderful individuals often aren't your typical beauty pagent winners, and those who are less interested in physical beauty are able to see who the person really is, truely georgous, as a whole person. An ability that comes from being uninterested in packaging. That's not to say that you can't be beautiful both on the outside and in (take me for example!). Those of us who do only get involved with the top of the beauty chain have grown to be more cynical because we are continuously shown that pretty is often their only redeaming quality.

Maybe one is able to believe in love at first sight because they don't believe in lust at first sight.

I don't think that you have to "believe in love at first sight", to experience it.

As for "lust at first sight" I have experienced that on many occasions but have never followed through on it because there wasn't any love.

Surely 'love at first sight' is simply an extension of 'lust at first sight' with some added luck.

The first attraction is nearly always physical - lust. If from that you find you are lucky enough to fall in love then that might be described as love at first sight.

I fell in love with my little girl long before I first her - probably not the kind of love you're talking about

(and before you ask I'm talking about my baby girl and not the little girl I keep in my cellar)

To quote the words of the beloved Kylie Minogue

"Thought that I was going crazy
Just having one of those days yeah
    Didn't know what to do
    Then there was you

And everything went from wrong to right
And the stars came out and filled up the sky
The music you were playing really blew my mind
It was love at first sight

'Cause baby when I heard you
For the first time I knew
We were meant to be as one
    "

I'm with KinkGuy on this one. Having experienced love at first sight, I am a true believer. However, I must confess that it is truly few and far between that it actually happens to.

Good question - I don't know if I'd call it 'love' at first sight, but I definitely believe it's possible to feel a strong connection to someone that is beyong physical attraction.

BUT, in my opinion - it's all in the eyes.

I mean that I think it can only happen when you really look into someone's eyes the first time you see them - that's where I think you can detect the things about their personality that you might come to love.

That's happened to me - saw someone with their back to me/side-on. Thought 'phwoar'. They looked at me and their was a glint of recognition in our eyes that made me feel like I knew what he was like. We clicked without speaking.

Once I got chatting, he was exactly like I thought he'd be and we could talk like we'd known each other for years. He was lovely.

If that's love at first sight is then yes. I believe! ('There can be miracles...when you beelieeeve'....etc....oh pass the sick bag).

    She was a child bride.

I think love at first sight might be possible for some, but rare. I know too many women who think they fall in love with every guy they date and it makes me want to puke. For the most part, I have difficulty believing you can love someone you don't even know. What is it exactly you are in love with? Bah Humbug!

ha/ha We actually dated for about 2 yrs before that though and that was the point of "love at second sight" for me. But for the record, I was at least 21 when I tied the knot. Actually, it was more like 11 years ago this January.
