My boyfriend (26, male) and I (27, male) had a big fight, because I did something really fucked up.
I'm just really down and sad.
And when I'm down and sad, I always escape to my room, spend a few hours by myself to decompose, and listen to music to cheer myself up and heal.
Music has always been there to cheer me up when nobody else was.
I'm looking for songs that describe, "I need to earn my bf/husband's trust back" to make me feel better.
I'm sure I'll be crying my eyes out until next week, but I'll heal and get over it soon, with the help of some good music.

And yes - most of the movies I watch are from the 1930s to the 1950s; I'm 27 and know what I like.

Here are my favorite artists & music genres (by the way, I'm American):
R&B (Teena Marie, Duffy - "Rockferry (the song)" and "Serious" are my 2 favorite Duffy songs; Elvis - I guess I'm an old soul, but one of my early crushes was Elvis; anytime he does slow songs, I melt + Keri Hilson _ "Energy" by Keri is my favorite Keri song since I listened to that song whenever my exes and I had issues; Total - "Spend Some Time" by Total is my song of the week right now since it describes my exact situation with my partner, Faith Evans' song "Soon As I Get Home" & "Love Like This Before" are my favorite Faith songs ever; Kelela - I've been a fan of Kelela since her album "Take Me Apart" came out & frequently played it back to front for 3 years straight - such a timeless classic album; Esthero's album "Wikked Lil' Grrls" is also one of my all-time favorites - "If Tha Mood", "Bad Boy Clyde", "Thank Heaven 4 You" and "Blanket Me In You" are my 4 favorite songs from Esthero's album; and there are so many more favorite R&B songs I can't seem to remember).

Pop & Britpop (The Human League, Sia - Sia's my favorite singer of all-time, Conan Gray, Charlie Puth, Kylie Minogue, Lisa Stansfield, George Michael, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Jessie J, Amy Winehouse, Troye Sivan, Years & Years, and many, many more - those are just a small list of examples of some of my all-time favorites)

1930s & 1940s Standards (Dinah Washington, The Andrews Sisters, Judy Garland, Ann Miller, and many more)

'60s Pop (Patsy Cline, Janis Joplin, Etta James, Tina Turner, The Miracles - "Shop Around" is one of my favorites, Dionne Warwick - "Walk On By", "Do You Know The Way To San Jose" and "Don't Make Me Over" are my favorite Dionne songs; Connie Francis, Dusty Springfield - "I Only Want To Be With You" is my favorite Dusty song; etc.)

Rock (The only rock I listen to is Fleetwood Mac, Blondie and Coldplay - Rock is not my go-to genre, since I rarely listen to it)

Rap - Neneh Cherry is my favorite rapper of all-time; Jack Harlow, Iggy Azalea and Machine Gun Kelly are also some of my all-time favorite rappers; they always make rap records that I relate to (and please do not send me MGK's rock stuff - His rap albums are his best work; "All I Have", "Story of the Stairs", "Gone" (with Leroy Sanchez), "See My Tears" & "Everyday" are easily my all-time favorite MGK records) + my all-time favorite Jack Harlow album is "Gazebo" (I'd definitely recommend Gazebo if you're into chillout music - it's like a combination of rap with jazz elements; so so good)

By the way, some of my favorite Neneh Cherry records are "422" (It quickly became my favorite Neneh song), "Twisted", "Love Ghetto", "Red Paint", "Manchild" (that song was ahead of its time too!), "My B****" (with Gilly G), "Everything" (from her album 'Blank Project'); "Soldier", "Slow Release"; "Accordion" (which is her cover of an MF Doom record - she did such an awesome job on that one! It was for her 2012 jazz record, "The Cherry Thing"), "Dream Baby Dream"; there are just so many songs I could mention by her, but those are my immediate favorites, since those are the ones I always listen to.

Nice!
And bonus points to you for remembering I love Connie Francis!
I never got into Chicago, but I've always known about them; they're one of those kinds of groups where I probably know their big hits, but can't remember the names of their songs.

Speaking of rock (and this song is probably not a rock song), my favorite rock song of all-time is "A Horse With No Name" by America.
I'm a songwriter - it's one of those timeless classics I wish I'd written!
