Oh I agree. I highly doubt she's leading youth to Satan. That's so blasé these days; something kids' parents did.
While I agree the occult symbolism is blatant, I disagree with the conclusions drawn by that blog. There is a great deal more to occult religions and spiritual practices than the blogger understands.
...
I agree. But she is masterfully showcasing them, for what reason (or maybe just for fun) is the interesting part.
Maybe, maybe not. I wager somebody knows something. Whether that's Lady Gaga or an art director, I don't know. The photos she appears in are very definitely loaded with western occult symbols including the Masonic throne and the bust. Somebody thought it would be interesting to do that and then put a goat head on her head. There's a consistent pattern of symbols which are not random.
Gaga and her symbolic presentation are certainly well done; especially the feel of her "Ra, Ra... Roma-a-a!"
almost-invocation sounding, slightly minor, regal, drum-backed chant at the beginning of the song. True: Ra/Egyptian and
Roma/Roman both may suggest an "old world" pagan power where the arcane was inter-mingled into influence, elitism, political ritual, and all of those other goodies.
This portion of the song is, unfortunately, a head-infector.
There are several video stills of many of her shots which do
seem to provoke some Revelations / Christian fundie end-times associated imagery original esoteric sources), such as the Whore of Babylon on fire, above the polar bear "beast" rug, between the two "Goats". As well as the finely tuned "Golden Dawn-esque" esoterica, I wouldn't put it past her to be playing on the subconscious beliefs of those on the fringe. In her Leno interview she spoke about re-connecting with her favorite teacher Nun from school and then presented a (almost?) sarcastic "
Well, now that I've given up Love..." as to imply she had "renounced it" for power and fame.
(Sidenot: Heck, the show V is doing that-- well-timed showcase plugs to universal healthcare, the suggestively anti-christ leader sending out false 'Bliss' bathed in Light to her subjects (a jab at New Age), tainted vaccines, and other fear/anxieties toward the "state of the world.")
Anyway, bringing this post back down to earth, I guess I am noticing more subtext of fringe topics being projected into media; they must be having a field-day. Lady Gaga and her multi-leveled self-commentary on the process of fame and world recognition included. Even if its just art becoming self-aware, and analogy on that level, she is starting to grow on me.
