I find it funny when fellow Americans attempt to affect a British style on the Internet. We have our own way of spelling words and our spelling conventions have an interesting history.

I'm American, but I think I've always spelled (spelt is British, no?) it as realise. Thanks, you turned it into an informative post. Somebody with something to say that isn't run of the mill.
