What songs do you put on the jukebox? In prepartion for Friday night, this is my list:

Spin Doctors - Two Princes
James Brown - Papa's Got A Brand New Bag
Little Richard - Good Golly Miss Molly
Prince - ? (I've worn those out and it isn't a very good selection...maybe Gold?)

What would your pick be? You can choose more than four. Just that it's four for a pound

But on LPSG no one can cry (or if they do you don't see them). Tell us SP!

Here's my revised list:

Spin Doctors - Two Princes
Little Richard - Good Golly Miss Molly (would have liked Long Tall Sally but its not on)
James Brown - Papa's Got A Brand New Bag
Alanis Morrisette - Hand In My Pocket*

*Nice song but her voice really annoys me...so screechy.

Ooooh...... 4 for a £.....

So I'm on an economy drive so will stick to 4 too.....

Rocco DeLuca and the Burden - Soul
Newton Faulkner - Ageing Superhero
The Midway State - A Million Fireflies
Captain Phoenix - Pistols & Hearts

Here goes then

End of the World - Brenda Lee
Song to the Siren - Sheila Chandra
The Beauty of the Rain - Dar Williams
Higher - Creed

Not my absolute favourites, just what I fancy at the moment.

I've heard of Creed...guess that's something

I had another thought:

Savage Garden - To The Moon And Back

But I don't think it goes with the rest and might be a bit dark for a Northern pub hehe.

End of the world doesn't sound very happy. Ooh and Stand By Me will have to go on (by Ben E King). Its gonna be a good night :biggrin1:

It's unsual that I haven't heard of at least one song out of four.

Yours was an unusual post
Even the titles don't ring a bell.

I'm an unusual girl!! :biggrin1:

OK.. so those are my faves at the mo....
But admittedly not seen them on any jukebox.
But then not seen a jukebox for yonks....

Feeding a jukebox is an artform. You have to balance:

The catalog available vs. x money available vs. logical song programming: concurrent with what's playing? Or do you throw the room a left hook?

I've always found this a crowdpleaser when available :biggrin1:

I would play old school R+B in the jukebox:

O'Bryan--"I'm Freaky"
Mtume--"Juicy Fruit"
The Gap Band--"Outstanding"
5Star--"Let Me Be The One"
Jermaine Stewart--"The Word is Out"

Then some old school pop
Olivia Newton-John--"Magic"
Olivia Newton-John--"Soul Kiss"
Olivia Newton-John--"Have You Ever Been Mellow?"
Culture Club and Scritti Politti--(Any album or song.)
Art of Noise--(Any album or song but I REALLY LIKE "Beat Box" and "Moments in Love"

Then, a few old club hits
Kraftwerk-- "Numbers/Computer World 2"
Man Parrish--"Hip Hop, Be Bop (Don't Stop!)"
Newcleus--"Jam On It"

If there is disco on there...
I want the Donna Summer cliches.
I want the Village People albums and cuts.
I REALLY like the Giorgio Moroder stuff from "Midnight Express".

OK, I'm feeling low tonight, so I'll pick some real downers --

Fire and Rain -- James Taylor
The Living Years -- Mike and the Mechanics
I Will Buy You A New Life -- Everclear
Japanese Banana -- Alvin and the Chipmunks

Broken -- Jack Johnson... it's always the perfect song
Flake -- Jack Johnson... it's relaxing plus it has a little beach sound to it
1234 -- Feist... heard it on an iPod commercial and fell in love with it
What You Want -- John Butler Trio... for those hard days
Lapdance -- N.E.R.D. .... for when one feels a little cocky
Until the Day I Die -- Story of the Year... to let the one I love know how i feel
Crazy Bitch -- Buckcherry... the perfect fuck song
In The Waiting Line -- Zero 7... the perfect smoking song if ever there was one
