LPSG pics and galleries - When is it enough

Some on here have no pics others have hundreds. What drives the pic posting? To show off, share, a way to get attention..... Not pointing fingers because I have a number of pics. For me it's a combo of fun and getting requests for other views. My desire to post more has decreased though.
What are your thoughts on the subject?

At first it was just to share my sense of humour - I'm too embarassed by my big belly and small peen to show any nude self-pics, but I found a few dick-esque pictures that I thought were quite funny so decided to share them in my gallery. Then I started getting more involved and privately communicating with a few particular members so I decided to post a face pic to let them see who they are 'talking' to. Then some-time after that, I decided to go all out and get myself verified. I can't do 'sexy', or even 'cute', so - once again - I went for humour. Since then, I've just posted things that I thought were funny.....

I was here 3 years before I had the courage to post a self-pic. I've always been very self-conscious about my looks so even just showing my face was difficult enough. I have no intention of going any further with my self-pics.

Unless you've been in so many porn movies your cock is well known OR you have some sort of anatomical oddity that your pictures are often used to explain a particular medical condition OR your wife/husband/bf/gf/partner/fuckbuddy is a frequent cruiser of the picture galleries on LPSG... I doubt you'll be recognized.

The realistic threat is the other way around: if someone identifies your username through the disclosure of some anecdote, incident, or personal detail they could then have access to pictures of your cock.

For instance suppose I happened to describe an incident like "A salesman from ACME Copiers managed to put his face in my crotch during a demo at our office today. He was so shocked he dumped toner all over me!"

Then suppose my boss searches the internet for prices on ACME Copier toner and just stumbles my post on Google and recognizes the incident. It sounds farfetched but chance-identifications like this really can occur; never blindly assume you're totally anonymous.

Willow, perfect example of "oh LPSG so i must post pics". I think many, not all, people have a mind set that u must post. In your case you wanted to show your face to the people you had connected with. As you said no need to go further.

And although I no longer have my pics up, there was a sense of excitement that someone could see them without knowing whose they were.
