About the fakes...
I have to admit, when I first came here I had NO IDEA that some people would fake their pictures. I realised some would use old pictures but fakery...well. I feel like I have had a real education. I came across one guy who persists in taking photos of himself clutching a dildo and pretending it's his penis - it isn't even the same colour as the rest of him (even allowing for variances due to sun exposure, blood rush and all the rest of it!). A few more people take it one step further - they Photoshop their pictures to elongate what they have, to add bits in and/or to give themselves some porn star's dick. A few have used doctored pictures for the LPSG verification process, which is interesting.
Then there are the men who pretend to be women. My theory is they do it a) to either trick the women into revealing things that they might share with other women and not necessarily with other men or b) because they want to PM straight men and some of the straight men here make it clear that they don't want any PMs from gay men. So they pretend to be women so that they can drool over the object of their lust openly, without backlash.
I do realise the internet is about fantasy for many people but all of this is very new (to me anyway!).
