Hey Rec!

Name the main virtue and defect that you believe other people see in you.
Virtue: possibly my silliness. I am very analytical and serious my nature, so I try to lighten up and make people laugh. It seems to work.
Defect: I like really my alone time--perhaps too much.

What did you want to be as a kid?
An architect, like Mr. Brady.

What does it take to seduce you?
Teasing, flirting and a long, slow seduction.

What was your last dream?
I don't remember. Probably some persecution dream that I often have.

Name your favourite movies.
I'm a hardcore videophile, so I'll try to keep this short: Cinema Paradiso; Ordinary People; Saving Private Ryan; Forrest Gump; Network; Iron Man; Sophie's Choice; Airplane; Knocked Up; Silence of the Lambs; Brokeback Mountain; Steamboy. There are many more, but those are off the top of my head.

First kiss: How old were you?
My first real kiss was with my first girlfriend when I was 12.

If you could be an animal for one day, which would you choose and why?
I guess a zebra because they have such sexy asses.

If you could choose another career now, what would you do?
Probably something in my academic field. Maybe speech pathology or translation.

Sailboard, play paintball, play tennis. Basically anything really physical.

Crunchy!

Both. I am usually mild, but when needed, I can get very wild!
-If you could rewind, what part of your life would you change, if any?
I guess that I would have done my PhD. Or I would have taken tennis a bit more seriously and focused on it rather than my undergrad. I can never get that back, so I'll likely regret that for the rest of my life.
-Bagel, toast or muffin?
I found these 12-grain bagels at Timmy's. I eat them with strawberry cream cheese almost every day--with my tea, of course.

He is really exactly the same. You wouldn't know that he has 2 or 3 drinks in him. I can barely stand up, but he's as eloquent and poised as ever.

What was the name of your first pet?
A dog named Peggy. She wasn't well-behaved so my folks took her to the pound. A day later they had regrets, so went back the the pound to get her. Somebody had since claimed her. I was about 7, so I barely remember her.

What is your best serve in tennis?
Sadly, it's my slice down the line in the ad court. I'd like to say that it's my flat 130 MPH serve, but I only get that in about 1/4 of the time.

Do you know all the words to "Oh Canada"?
Hell yes. I've heard that song every morning in grammar school. They slightly changed it recently, so I hear. The real question is, "do you?"

How many computers do you own?
6 or so. I only regularly use 2. As you know, I have them side-by-side.

What provinces and states have you visited?
Every province! I have been all over the American Northeast, as far south as the Florida Keys, as west as CA, and the Northwasst (WA). I guess that's all four corners. I haven't been to Alaska or Hawaii, but I'm working on it. My favorite province was, of course, PEI. My favorite state will always be NY.

How many times a week do you eat poutine?
Lately about once. That's down from about 4 times per week this past summer. I developed a slight ponch that is driving me crazy.

What was the best personal aspect of being in military service?
Discipline! When I would come home from a tour, I'd iron my underwear and align my shoes after I took them off. I never left any clothes on the floor. I did my calisthenics every day. I woke early and went to bed at a decent hour. I miss the discipline. I'm a bit of a slacker lately.

What is your favorite dish to cook?
You know as well as I do that I can only cook 2 things: Polenta and Spaghetti.

Why do you never sleep in your bed?
Hah! I plead the 5th.

In a forced situation, sucking toes or licking armpits?
Being dipped in acid.

What are the 3 attributes you most admire in a person?
Honesty, stoicism, generosity.

What behaviour can you not tolerate from people?
Apathy! I suppose it's a lack of behavior.

Yes, but I shouldn't say. My close friends would know the answer to this.

Orange Sorbet

If you found $100 on the street, what would you do with it?
My policy is that if you find money then you get to blow it on something insanely frivolous.

Your idea of perfect happiness?
Maybe sailing somewhere that I've never been... or reaching the finals of a major tennis tourney (only in my dreams).

Dying before my goals are achieved.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Food. I never, NEVER eat at home. Also sports, but I've cut out alot of club memberships.

I have a cold, so I am miserable.
What do you regard as the lowest depth of misery?
having a cold? I guess being alone or just not doing anything with your life.
What is your most treasured possession?
I literally have a treasure chest. I've been putting momentos in there since I was about 8 years old. My university parchments mean alot to me. Some work that I've accomplished (web pages and programs). My sports trophies too, I suppose.
What quality do you like best in yourself?
I challenge myself to be honest about myself, even if it exposes me to ridicule.
Who is your favorite writer?
Sinclair Ross, with Margaret Atwood being a close second.
What is it you most dislike?
I don't really hate anyone. Some people rub me the wrong way, though. I suppose my former boss is the person that I dislike the most.

Not in the least. I don't rely on my mother on anything but the odd Xmas and birthday card.

Every time I watch a Michael Bay movie. I tend to fall madly in lust for some people, but it subsides quickly.

Tennis was my life, but alot of it's charm is gone. I really like 'ulty' (ultimate) now because of it's laid-back atmosphere. It's co-ed and very non-competative. It really isn't about winning or losing. It's a blast. Paintball is fun as hell, but I encounter too many cheaters. I'll always love hockey, but games are too hard to set up unless you're on a league, and I don't have the time or money for that.

Every day! Usually Socal.

Would you ever call yourself an extremeist in any way?
Not at all. I live a very moderate life. My sense of humor might be a bit extreme, and maybe my political views. Otherwise I'm painfully boring and mainstream.

I likely can't have my ass baby after 50. Luckily I'm in my 30's, so I have years to set up an ass baby education fund, paint a nursery, buy a minivan, yadda. Marley and I can take our kids to the same ass baby school.
